The Maker's Shield is a side quest encountered during A Village Under Siege. Ser Perth wants Mother Hannah to provide holy protection for the coming battle.
Walkthrough 
Edit
You can either persuade or intimidate Mother Hannah into giving you holy amulets for the militia.
Result Edit
Increases the militia's morale. If Leliana is present when you talk to Ser Perth you will lose approval with her 
(-5) however if Morrigan is in your party you will gain approval with her 
(+2) .
