Regarding the variations of the letter[]

Hello, all

Just created this page and hopefully there are others still playing the game that will see fit to add to it. I'm not sure how to add notes that are only seen by editors--or if it's even possible for guest editors to add such notes. As such, I'm adding the notes here.

This is an interesting letter in fleshing out a surprisingly interesting NPC, especially considering it is only a minor NPC. Bioware at its finest again. I hope others will add to the variations in the letter based on their different characters and choices, but hopefully keep to a minimal and tight style of formatting to avoid the page getting bloated. Here are a few things for consideration:

1. If the only differences for the original letter content for a male versus female Inquisitor are the third person pronouns, then it is unnecessary to add separate paragraphs for both genders. I also feel that modifiying the original contents to do something like "He/She" and "him/her" is rather distracting and breaks the flow of the original text. There are notes at the beginning clearly stating the pronouns variations are switched in game; perhaps the male Inquisitors can provide this small allowance for readers and keep the letter's text as "she" uniform throughout.

2. Most likely the most variation in the content of the letter will come from the different species choices for the Inquisitor. Because it is a very touching and well written letter, my goal is to preserve the flow as much as possible, including in the style of the formatting. So I chose to add a line of note before the exact paragraph in which this occurs and indent that paragraph by adding a ":" in front of the first letter, instead of using the "block quote" formatting. The block quote appears to highlight the entire paragraph too much, making it stick out and appear separate from the entire letter. This way the exact portion in which the variation occurs is clarified while still appearing as a part of the entire letter. Perhaps for each other species, other editors can do the same thing. Create a line of note, then add another indented paragraph. (For some reason there are no indentation buttons for the visual editor, making things difficult for novice editors such as myself. So I chose to use the ":" I found in talk pages. Maybe more seasoned editors that have access to advance editing functions can choose a more ideal formatting style.)

These are simply my thoughts and for the consideration of other editors to the page. If anyone has other thoughts to contribute, they are more than welcome to add to the discussion. --A guest 23:00, May 3, 2016 (UTC)
