Though not noble or even well-known outside of the Alienage, its members often appear to have an unorthodox reputation as troublemakers or rebels yet also advocates for their kin, often lacking the same servile mien as most city elves. On the City Elf's mother's side the dagger Fang, or the Fang of Fen'Harel, is passed down as an ancestral blade dating to the time of the Exalted March upon the Dales, as is unusual martial training by Adaia in either the rogue or warrior style.

- Tabris is also the name of the angel of free will and alternative solutions, and continues—with Mahariel—the trend of many elven surnames being angelic in origin. The exception to this would be Surana, which means "joyous" in Sanskrit.
