In the City Elf origin, Shianni (cousin to Soris - confirmed if a non-city elf Warden speaks to Soris in the Alienage after realeasing him) is the elf who wakes up The Warden at the beginning, reminding him/her that today is their wedding day. Shianni is later seen getting into trouble with the son of the Arl of Denerim, Bann Vaughan, which escalates when she knocks out Vaughan with a wine bottle. When Vaughan and his friends later disrupt the future Warden's wedding and kidnap all the women present, Shianni is among the abducted. She is later seen in a room with Vaughan and his friends. At this point, The Warden may choose to make a deal with Vaughan, or to kill him. It is strongly implied Shianni was raped, which is later confirmed when King Cailan asks about the Denerim Alienages. The Warden may respond "I killed an Arl's son for raping my friend."

If you choose to slay Vaughan and his men, Shianni goes into a state of shock, presumably from a combination of her sexual assault and the deaths she witnesses. Before leaving for Ostagar, The Warden may speak to Shianni who will respond that everyone else presumes she was only brutalized, but not raped.

In a much later quest, Shianni is a main point of contact when the Warden enters the elven alienage to investigate a mysterious plague that has recently spread there. If the Warden is Human, she will be particularly abrasive to them, though may be somewhat friendlier if Soris was freed from the Arl of Denerim's Estate earlier on. She is one of the few people within the alienage who believes foul play is involved with the so called "quarantine".

If your Warden is a city Elf, Shianni will mention the wedding. This can get shocked (yet somewhat funny) reponses off the Warden's love interest if they are in the party at the time.

She is also the specter that appears to the City Elf Warden within the "Gauntlet" portion of the quest when the party goes to find to Urn of Sacred Ashes.

The Imperium Ring called Dawn is given as thanks by Shianni in the Elven Alienage in Denerim during The Final Battle. The second Imperium Ring called Dusk can be acquired in Brecilian Forest.
