Shards in the Approach is a collection in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Search for any shards scattered around the Western Approach.
Acquisition
Obtained by interacting with any of the five oculara in the region.
Walkthrough
Interact with all five oculara, and collect the 14 shards revealed.
The ocularum are found in the following locations:
- The Canyons (3 Shards)
- Dustytop Fort, south-west of Nazaire's Pass Camp (3 Shards)
- Echoback Canyon (3 Shards)
- Giant's Staircase (3 Shards)
- Old Prison Road (2 Shards)

Results
- Collecting shards enables the Inquisitor to complete the following five side quests in the Forbidden Oasis:
Shard Collector- The Fire Captured
- The Cold Endured
The Spirit Calmed- The Temple of Pride
- Plus
- The Mystery of Winter in the Frostback Basin (requires Jaws of Hakkon DLC).
- In order to complete all of the listed quests, the Inquisitor must collect every shard in every relevant location (126 in total).
