Runes are items with magical properties that can be used to enchant weapons and armor in Dragon Age II.
Description[]
There are two different types of runes: weapon runes and armor runes. These runes are applied by Sandal in Hightown by the Merchant's Guild.
Runes are applied to weapons or armor to add a bonus to that item. There is no cost associated with adding runes but runes cannot be removed or reused in Dragon Age II. Applying a new rune to an item will destroy the existing rune.
Weapon Runes[]

Weapon Runes can be applied to certain weapons to provide permanent bonuses to that weapon's effects. Sandal Feddic is responsible for adding the runes.
Armor Runes[]

Armor Runes can be applied to armor to provide bonuses to that armor.
