The Ruins of Heidrun Thaig is all that remains of the once proud Heidrun Thaig.

Background Edit

The thaig was built before the First Blight.[1] It was dedicated to Paragon Heidrun the Deep whose remains are entombed under a massive stone statue in the center of the thaig.[2] It was a lyrium mining location, but an "incident" involving "creatures that wear the faces of the dead" disturbed the operations and warranted direct intervention of the king and his troops.[1]

Centuries later members of the Legion of the Dead would often visit the ruins. Once they encountered a rock wraith in an old mine shaft near the thaig.[3] Another time they found a former prison of an Archdemon below Heidrun Turning filled with darkspawn corpses who died praying to their god.[4]

The Inquisitor and companions follow Valta and Renn into the deep roads in search of the source of the wakes.

There are two expeditions in this area that can be completed from the Expedition Table at the Legion of the Dead camp in the very first area.

Trivia Edit

  • Apart from regular dwarven imagery, the Heidrun Thaig is adorned with two types of statues that can be found in the Primeval Thaig. The spiky statues are also similar to the Claws of Dumat in the Fade, while the winged statues can also be found in the Lost Outpost beneath Crestwood.
