Orlesian Battledress is a side quest in the DLC Leliana's Song.

“You have found part of an Orlesian masterwork leather armor. What it is doing in Ferelden is anyone's guess. It is not so much cut as unassembled. A tooling imprint suggests that there are six pieces in total.”

Acquisition[]

Once you obtain the first Masterwork Leather Piece, this will begin the quest.

Walkthrough[]

This section contains spoilers for:
Leliana's Song.

Denerim Market District

  • Jovi Merice may be found in the southern alley on the Denerim Market map, just past the Wonders of Thedas. Loot his body for the first of the six pieces.

Arl of Denerim's Estate

  • Once you pass through the first bedroom of the interior and enter the hallway, head through the locked door opposite. The Masterwork Leather Piece is inside the chest.
  • The third piece is within the master bedroom where you plant the documents.

(Note: Leliana needs to have Mechanical Expertise and 19 cunning to open the ornate chest in the Master Bedroom.

Arl of Denerim's Estate (Revisited)

  • The fourth piece can be found on an armor stand, in the room with the weapon master and the Mabari hounds.

Arl of Denerim's Estate - Dungeon

  • After passing the second portcullis, it can be found in the first room you can enter, inside a locked footlocker.

Chantry

  • The final piece may be found within the room you awaken in, in the Amaranthine Chantry. It's located inside the desk drawer.

Rewards

  • 3000 xp.
  • The first time this occurs the player will be awarded the Provocateur achievement.

Notes

  • It is possible to leave the nobles estate then acquire Mechanical Expertise/Improved Tools by either gaining a level or buying a Tome from Bonny Lem at the hideout before returning for the second part of the quest. The newly gained talent point may then be used to purchase mechanical expertise. You can either put a single point into cunning or buy and equip the Lightning Chain from Bonny Lem. Lem doesn't always carry the Tomes needed however, so be sure to save before placing the documents on the desk. This ensures that it will be possible to reload until he has one. Leaving the Noble's Estate the second time without the Masterwork Leather Pieces makes finishing the Orlesian Battledress quest impossible.
