The Lady of Regrets
For the wisest lady in all the land
The criers called, "Come one and all! To hear
Words like jewels, bright with meaning and grand
When all had come and gathered near,
The lady spoke, "Beyond us is a field
Empty of rightness and wrong. There you may
Find me, my soul unarmored, and my shield
Shrouded by my tears for those who yet say,
'No regrets'. Let sorrow water what's dear.
Wisdom cannot grow in the barren sand."
