Background
Edit
At the height of the Summer War all of Orlais was embroiled in fierce battles. Over the course of the war dozens of contenders for the Imperial Throne emerged – most long forgotten except as footnotes in scholarly tomes. But everyone remembers the gallant young lord Emile Deveraux, "the Golden Prince". Thought outnumbered at every turn, he racked victory upon victory culminating in the Seventh Battle of Roses. While wearing this shield he broke through his uncle's vanguard to win the day. He never knew the taste of defeat, instead meeting his end at the hands of a jealous lover in the dead of night.

Notes
Edit
- Despite reports [2] that the Fadeshear Sword and The Lion of Orlais Shield would not be available to UK Amazon customers, promo codes for obtaining both the Sword and the Shield were e-mailed to UK Amazon purchasers.
- It is available to North American customers who pre-ordered the game from GameStop/EB Games, prior to March 8th, 2011. (The code for which must be redeemed at the BioWare Social Network site, and can only be used once)
- For PS3 the Fadeshear Sword and The Lion of Orlais Shield will be available after registering the game in the Bioware site. [3]
- Given the experience mechanics of Dragon Age II, if any one of your companions has this shield equiped, any completion of any quest will yield the additional 2%, regardless of whether they are in the party or not.
- The constitution required for this shield has been lowered from previously 20 to 14 with one of the patches.
