Lady Johane Harimann was the matriarch of the Harimann noble family of Kirkwall, and the mastermind behind the murder of the Vaels of Starkhaven.

Lady Harimann was the mastermind behind the assassination of the Vaels, the ruling family of Starkhaven. She was a potent mage, and took control of the Harimann family following her Husband's death. She murdered the Vaels (long-time friends of the Harimanns) in order to further her own family's power. She placed Goran Vael on the throne of Starkhaven, as she believed she could easily manipulate him. To solidify her hold, she prepared to force her daughter, Flora, into marriage with Vael.

Lady Harimann is involved in the quest, Repentance, given by Sebastian in Act 2. He asks you to travel to the Harimann estate, as he has discovered that Lady Harimann was behind the murder of his parents. Inside the estate, the young Harimanns are shown to be behaving very oddly, which Sebastian comments is completely out of character.
In the caves which run beneath the estate, Lady Harimann is discovered convening with a Desire Demon, Allure. It transpires that she used her family, giving them to the desire demon in order to gain more power in an attempt to control Starkhaven. She naively believed that she was strong enough to resist the demon but it subtly influenced her until all she could think of was seizing Starkhaven. She is killed at the end of the quest, her children freed from the demon's clutches.
