“People fear the next age if it comes too soon.”
Kieran (born 9:31 Dragon) is the son of Morrigan. He is possibly carrying the soul of the slain Old God Urthemiel.
Kieran only exists if either Morrigan performs her ritual or had been in a romantic relationship with the Warden in Dragon Age: Origins.
Involvement[]
Dragon Age: Origins[]
Upon the death of the Archdemon atop Fort Drakon, its uncorrupted soul passed into Kieran.
Dragon Age: Inquisition[]
The Inquisitor encounters Kieran after Morrigan joins the Inquisition as its liaison. He will make a brief appearance in Skyhold, before being told to go back to his studies by his mother. Kieran has a number of comments on the Inquisitor depending on race and class, and on whether he has the soul of Urthemiel or is an ordinary child.

Dialogue[]
The conversation with him largely depends on whether he carries the soul of Urthemiel (1) or is an ordinary child (2):[1]
- Inquisitor: Who is your mother?
- Kieran (1): Mother is the inheritor, she who awaits the next age.
- Kieran (2): She's the Witch of the Wilds.
- Kieran: Mother said you were scary.
- Inquisitor: Why would I be scary?
- Kieran (1): Because people fear the next age if it comes too soon.
- Kieran (2): I don't know. You seem nice for someone who kills a lot.
- Inquisitor: Some people seem to think I'm the most frightening thing in the world.
- Kieran (1): Mother says they would think the same about me, if they knew.
- Kieran (2): Those people haven't met you, have they?
- Kieran: Mother never told me the Inquisitor was a mage.
- Inquisitor: If you can sense magic, don't ever become a templar.
- Kieran (1): I can't. The lyrium gives me _terrible_ nightmares.
- Kieran (2): I don't think Mother would like that much.
- Inquisitor: That's not such a terrible thing, is it?
- Kieran (1): No. It would be worse if you couldn't touch magic at all. Like being blind.
- Kieran (2): No. Magic isn't so scary like everyone thinks.
- Kieran: Mother never told me the Inquisitor was an elf.
- Inquisitor: That's not such a terrible thing, is it?
- Kieran (1): No, I just don't know why your people want to look like that.
- Kieran (2): No, I think elves are pretty.
- Inquisitor: The ears gave me away, didn't they?
- Kieran (1): No. Your blood is very old. I saw it right away.
- Kieran (2): giggles Yes. They're very large.
- Kieran: You're very short. Mother didn't say you were a dwarf.
- Inquisitor: You caught me. And I was trying so hard to be taller.
- Kieran (1): But you can't be taller. Not without the titans.
- Kieran (2): I know how you feel.
- Kieran: You're very tall. Mother didn't say you were a Qunari.
- Inquisitor: I'm told it's the first thing one notices about me.
- Kieran (1): I noticed your blood. It doesn't belong to your people.
- Kieran (2): Mother notices strange things about everyone.
- Inquisitor: That's not such a terrible thing, is it?
- Kieran (1): No. I just feel bad about what happened to your people.
- Kieran (2): I guess not. You just have really scary horns.
Trivia[]
- Before the name or gender of Morrigan's child was known, Kieran was popularly referred to by fans as "the OGB" — the Old God Baby. The games' developers have also used this nickname occasionally when referring to him in discussions.
- This name is also used in the Dragon Age Keep tapestry.
- Kieran's voice actor, Odin Black, is the son of Morrigan's voice actress, Claudia Black.[2]
- Kieran is potentially the first half-dwarf ever encountered (if the Warden was a dwarf).
- Kieran could have a claim to the Fereldan throne if his father isn't the Warden, though the strength of such a claim would be ambiguous as he is an illegitimate child who isn't publicly acknowledged as being Alistair's son or Queen Anora's half-brother.
- Kieran also has a tenuous claim to the Fereldan throne if his father is the human noble Warden, provided the Warden married Anora.
- However, it should be noted that Morrigan promises Alistair that she will not let Kieran take the throne when she offers him the ritual.
