Background
Edit
Gorim used to be the second of the Dwarf Noble, the second child of King Endrin Aeducan. He is also a temporary companion in this origin quest. Gorim's grandfather was a great hero of the Deep Roads, and his family has served House Aeducan for a long time.

If the Dwarf Noble is female, she can verify that there is a romantic relationship with Gorim, although they are forbidden to marry, since he is of a lower caste. Gorim may also be asked for his opinion on what to do with Trian and he will admit that he will be a very bad ruler and he has considerable support in the Assembly just to keep it in a lockdown but not enough to become the king, so killing him now will make the House Aeducan stronger and save a great deal of bloodshed later.
After the death of the the Dwarf Noble's elder brother, Trian Aeducan, Gorim is exiled and sent to the surface, whilst the noble is exiled into the Deep Roads to fight darkspawn until their death. He will tell the Dwarf Noble that there is a way to escape by finding Duncan and other Grey Wardens who are there as well. When choosing a specific dialogue option Gorim tells the Dwarf Noble he will try to head to Denerim, the capital city of Ferelden, and that if the Dwarf Noble makes it out of the Deep Roads, he/she will find him there.
He does indeed make his way to Denerim, where all Wardens can find him as a merchant in the Denerim Market District. He will tell the Dwarf Noble that he badly injured his leg while leaving Orzammar, but after making his way to the surface he married a surface dwarf and is expecting a child with her. His new father-in-law is a smith who helps make the goods he sells. He offers a special discount at his stall to Dwarf Nobles (buying at 50% of the listed price of items instead of 25% and selling at only +10%). Similarly, if you side with Bhelen Aeducan as a race other than a Dwarf Noble and speak to Lord Anwer Dace in the Aeducan Thaig, the player can take him up on his offer of a discount with some surface merchants he knows and it will apply a 25% discount to any goods purchased from Gorim at his stall in Denerim but adds nothing to the value of items you attempt to sell to him.
If the Warden is not a Dwarf Noble, having Oghren in the active party when approaching Gorim's stall for the first time will begin a conversation revealing how the two know one another.
Playing as the Dwarf Noble origin, if the Warden survives the final battle, Gorim will meet the Warden in the throne room and tell them that they are being made a Paragon, and that he will happily become the Warden's second again.
The Aeducan Family Shield is given to the Dwarf Noble Warden by Gorim when you converse with him in Denerim.
If the Dwarven Noble Warden is male and participated in Mardy's proposition in the beginning of the game, he may also choose to name his son after Gorim, should he regain his son's status in the quest Of Noble Birth. Inventory

Quotes
Edit
- "That fool has no idea how weak his house is or how low he sits in it. Shall I have him killed, my lord/lady?"
- "Word has been sent. He won't live past the hour."
- "You treacherous bastard!"(said to Frandlin Ivo when he sells you out)
- "Nothing like being talked down to by the next king."
- "I will always be your man, my Lord/Lady Aeducan."
- "Dwarven Crafts, Fine Dwarven Crafts, direct from Orzammar! You won't find better!" (Shouted in Denerim Market District)
- Warden: "Gorim, we need to kill these men."
- Gorim: "I'll try to hide my disappointment."
- Warden (female): "I could use a little sweeping off my feet."
- Gorim: "I got a well built magical broom just for you, but that's for later."
- Warden (female): "Yes. Let them see me as a warrior."
- Gorim: "As opposed to a Paragon of Beauty?"
- Warden (female): "Close the door and I'll show you a Paragon of Beauty."
- Gorim: "Ha! Don't you remember how this game goes? I get undressed and then one of your brothers or cousins appears and thrashes me. I'll take my chances outside the palace, if you don't mind. Perhaps after the feast? Well... thoughts for later I suppose."
- Gorim: "He's fainted. You make quite the impression these days. Is it hard to be the king's child, never able to blend in?"
- Warden: "Sometimes."
- Gorim: "I see you for you, if that's any consolation."
