The Frostback Mountains (also known as The Frostbacks) are a towering range of mountains that form Ferelden's natural western border with Orlais. They are considered highly inhospitable, and yet they house the native Avvar tribes, as well as the Dwarven City of Orzammar.

Other zones in or around the Frostbacks include: the village of Haven, Honnleath, Redcliffe Castle, and Gherlen's Pass, leading to Orlais.

Involvement Edit

The Frostback Mountain location in the World map leads to a short pass between the Frostback Mountains themselves. The small area leads to the gates of Orzammar.

On the Warden's first visit to the Pass, a group of Bounty hunters will be waiting, and attack as soon as the party steps close to the bridge.

There are a few people at the end of the path, seemingly waiting to be allowed in the dwarven city. It appears Orzammar is locked down due to some internal crisis.

If entry is sought, there will be a confrontation with Loghain's messengers. This can be resolved by fighting or intimidating the messengers.
