Frenic is a leader of a group of blood mages in Orlais and the main antagonist of Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker.

Frenic and his blood mage cult kidnapped a young elven mage named Avexis from the Circle of Magi, who had the power to control beasts. As he forced her to drink blood to subvert her under his control, the ritual was interrupted by the Seekers of Truth. During the battle, Frenic identified Cassandra Pentaghast as a dragon slayer when she slayed a captive drake. Cornered, Frenic was forced to abandon Avexis and transformed into a raven to escape. Frenic later clandestinely met with Knight-Commander Martel, whom he was secretly conspiring with, and passed him an elven stone in order to secretly communicate.
Luck would have it that a Seeker named Byron, fearing a conspiracy within the Chantry, spirited Avexis away from the Seeker fortress. Frenic and his mages ambushed both him and Cassandra, killing Byron and kidnapped Avexis once again. Frenic then completed his ritual, and used Avexis to command high dragons that would assault Val Royeaux and kill both the Divine and Grand Clerics, except Grand Cleric Callista, enabling her to ascend to succeed the Divine. But his plan fell apart as Cassandra began killing the dragons and the Circle rescued Avexis. As Callista began stumbling towards Frenic, he suddenly killed her, revealing that he simply used her ambition as means to destroy the Chantry and allow mages to rule once more. He then impaled himself on his own staff, transforming into a massive pride demon. In this new form, he proved resistant towards the Circle mages' spells, until Avexis summoned a surviving dragon to deal with him. As Frenic was set on fire, clinging to a precipice, Cassandra delivering the finishing blow and impales her sword into his head, killing Frenic.
