could the inquisitor accidentally open a rift to the black city
I think everyone WANTS that to happen in a DLC but I don't think that will happen any time soon unless the DLC for inquisition covers a lot more plot on Solas and the elves etc. The Black City is so deeply connected to the lore of the Dragon Age series and the overarching plot to the series as a whole I don't think they will break out the Black City until possibly the next game in the series sadly. I'm quite sure the Black City will feature in the final Dragon Age game, maybe Dragon Age 5 or 6 or so - because honestly, there's still a lot of DA lore to go through; not just human and elven, but dwarven and qunari as well, and the following games will span over them all. The Black City will certainly not be a DLC, because it is so big a deal it deserves a whole game of itself - It's been rumored to be the origin of the taint, the seat of the Maker, the lost city of Arlathan, the heart of the Fade ... It's been the Big Mystery since we first spotted it in the Harrowing during the mage origin. If the Dragon Age is going to have a big final, it's going to be in the Black City. --SylvanLore (talk) 09:20, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
I can just see a scene... after the boss battle and either purging or keeping the taint in the black city, the hero throws his sword to the floor and turn it's back to the camera which keeps going up until you see a throne and then the hero sits on it and his face is zoomed in and the hero just smiles... dunno something like that. -- 15:11, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
There is a dialogue with Morrigan where you have the opportunity to say that you would enter the Black City if you knew how. I agree that it is too large for a simple DLC though. Caspoi (talk) 16:17, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
Entering the Black City won't be the last game. If we go up there and see that there is no Maker we would have to deal with a revolt against much religion then we would need to figure out what the origin of all life was. The Maker is the "human god" theory. Solas appearing in the 3rd game and the whole Flemeth thing proves that most of the elvish religion is right (they exist, the stories tho have no grounds of truth). If in fact the maker does exist then what is he? DLC for the Black City is most likely not going to happen, But I see a great chance of Tevinter in the coming as DLC. Possibly a return to Denerim or go to Antiva but there is a slim chance for any return to the fade.
-- I do not wanna go into the black city... I wanna know what happened there, what did the Magisters do and the real story of what they saw... was it always tainted, was it tainted because of them, who are the other 5 magisters and where are they???-- 15:29, January 27, 2015 (UTC)
If I am not mistaken in the first game they mention how the magisters stepped into the golden city and i turned black. Also with the information from corypheus said that the throne was empty and no god was there. like i had said after we finish up on the elvish lore the story may lead in a few different ways. 1. We could see the return of the Qunari and resolve some stuff from them. 2. We could be going over to Antiva for some assassin fun (Assassin's Creed style game would be fun) 3. We could go on as the inquisitor to the Tevinter Empirium and learn a way into the black city. 4. We could go on from the grey wardens for either redemption or into the deep roads to kill the last of the archdemons they know the location just never were able to make it for the numerous number or darkspawn and what would they do when they did get there?
To be honest, I'd rather the Black City remain a mystery for a while. Something we can speculate about.
