Do you believe dwarves will ever retake thaigs from the darkspawn? It could be more possible, when all old gods are dead, which leads to their disorganisation unless they find another ancient darkspawn like Corypheus. With Bhelen or Harrowmont supported by golems in epiloge is mentioned that some thaigs were took back, however whole deep roads are as big as Thedas. I expect dwarves to segregate thaigs by strategic purposes. I am sure they won't reclaim the thaigs alone, however if human kingdoms aid them they'll demand big things in return, not only money or trade contracts, some mines of precious minerals, even more. When you aks for help, be ready for bid expectations of reward from your supporters and to fulfill them.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 19:22, March 17, 2014 (UTC)

Only if they abandon their racist caste system and political power-play.122.54.218.77 (talk) 05:55, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
Not racist, that's status segregation, all dwarves are one race, racism is when dwarves consider humans and elves as lesser race and caste has nothing to do with it.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 10:09, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
Higher caste calling the lower caste as shit is very racist.112.200.31.225 (talk) 10:15, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
That's superiority complex, not racism, to be racism 2 different races are needed, not classes.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 10:24, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
Racist is not limited to races but having different cultures and body figures casteless have a brand in their face to know they are casteless. Mages suffering from racism because they have magic and kill anything in their sight, mostly branded as demons in sheep's clothing.112.200.31.225 (talk) 10:28, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
But it is limited. Sorry but even emtymology and all the dictionaries conffirm this. The word you both looking for is chauvinism. Yep it isn't spread wild in english but it's exist regardless of media trying to degenerate your language.--89.65.16.182 (talk) 12:27, March 18, 2014 (UTC)

Not unless they abandon the caste system and their politics to focus on the darkspawn threat, no. Even if they did that, though, they'd probably first have to get rid of the remaining old gods to prevent the hordes from becoming organized, and potentially any other powerful darkspawn who have the same effect like Corypheus, the Architect, etc. Honestly, I don't see the darkspawn ever being fully eradicated without a worldwide cooperative effort from all the nations dedicated to doing just that. Even then it wouldn't be easy. The only other way I can think of is, if the Chantry's story about how they came to be is true, is if the Maker returns and forgives his children for whatever reason and gets rid of them himself. It's kinda sad, but I see Orlais and Ferelden, Tevinter and Par Vollen, and everyone else actually cooperating before I see that happening. 67.61.234.198 (talk) 00:25, March 18, 2014 (UTC)

Erm FDS is right, it's not racist, the Dwarves are on race. Not multiple ones, degrading others because of their culture is not racist either. ---Lazare326 (talk)>

the only way i see darkspawn being removed so that the dwarves reclaim their empire is by the compleate destruction of eveRything magical which unless the pull another ME3 ending choice on us that seems unlikely to happen so i doubt the darkspawn will ever be full destroyed or alternatively controlled enough/treaty or truce with (maybe to do with the architect) that the dwarves would get their thaigs back. also on the racism thing, some. real life cultutes had castes and even normal modern day society seems to have a similar thing in which some people considered to be in the upper classes(rich) treat the lower classes (poor) people worse regardsless of skin color etc ,just because they were born poorer or became poorer .it s dscrimination but not rcaism since they are still the same race User:Blitzbear93

Another way to decrease numbers of darkspawns is to throw bottles of sar gamek, so they could start slaying each other.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 18:46, March 19, 2014 (UTC)

ohh hey wow i didnt even think about that option, would it work though? theyd not be immune or anything right? User:Blitzbear93

Those monsters aren't as immune as you think, grenades, poisons, spells, traps with chemical substances work on them, so I think sar gamek would also work on them. FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 21:00, March 19, 2014 (UTC)

Is there an approx number on the amount of darkspawn? Don't think there is, but we do know the 5 blights that have happened have brought a lot of darkspawn. The dwarves alone cannot get rid of them, but we do know that they are (Apart from the Qunari) the most advanced race in terms of technology and weaponry. As you said they had bottles of war gamek, which could lead to a fight together but can it work? Worth a try. Or another way is that will the darkspawn cease to be after all blights (which even we don't know is the true version of events). Nevertheless, inventing new weapons of mass destruction or technology that could reduce darkspawn numbers may lead to a rebuilding and retaking of thaigs. As for Kal-Sharok, for all we know they may have developed things independently that make it exceed Orzammar. ---Lazare326 (talk)>

Nobody knows how many darkspawn are, but maybe they are immortal, we met Ancient Darkspawn. Sten estimated that archdemon is surrounded by an ocean of darkspawns. However even if they are mostly cannon fodder, not only their numbers and taint makes them dangerous, each darkspawn is stronger than its humanoid counterpaths. Has anyone wondered if lyrium in deep roads affects them, not just to make them emissaries, but also makes them phisically stronger or mutated. With red lyrium they could perhaps grow gargantuan.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 20:59, March 19, 2014 (UTC)

Personally I think as you hinted at FDS that the darkspawn have a bigger origin than the one told by the Chantry. I do think their is a higher "being" in Thedas but that being did not create the taint and what not. I want to know the real origin of the taint and not that of the Chantries version. If their version is true then wow. Nevertheless red-lyrium what if it is linked with the taint? Or it actually makes you (as you said) stronger which is a brilliant point you made there. Imagine a fully mutated darkspawn out of bounds but personally think if the dwarves want a new empire then it'll be a lot of hard work. If not they could build weapons, tech and more stuff and rebuild on the ground. Despite the power of humans and elves (to an extent) I do think the dwarves could have a surface kingdom but that'd go against their own beliefs in regards to never going on surface albeit an exclusive few. But they could be driver out of orzammar. . ---Lazare326 (talk)>

Tevinter claims Dumat created the Darkspawn, dwarves don't care about their origin. Corypheus confirmed the Chantry was correct that the first darkspawns were ancient magisters, who seeked the golden city. We know how the darkspawn were created but not the taint. Corypheus said the city was already corrupted and black, when he went there. I am not sure how the taint was created, but I have a theory for the red lyrium. I speculate long ago dwarves in primeval thaig were mages but one day they made an experiment that went terribly wrong, which caused to destruction of the thaig and corruption of the local lyrium. Those who survived miraclously inside the ruined thaig ate lyrium and red lyrium and became profanes. Those who escaped from the thaig were the legendary 7 dwarven brothers, who founded they dwarven culture we all know, they also wanted next generations to be completelly ignorant of what happened in the primeval thaig, so they made a dogma that nothing is older than the Memories. I have also a simpler theory, that lyrium is a growing crystal and the red one is immature and the blue one is its final stage.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 21:41, March 19, 2014 (UTC)
Lazare326 theoretically it's possible the dwarves already have a surface kingdom from the underground kingdoms that had fallen to the darkspawn (e.g. Gundaar and Hormak), but managed to escape to the surface and recover enough semblance of their kingdom to continue on. Since Orzammar is steep in traditionalism they wouldn't receive any recognition as nobility or of their continued existence on the surface among the dwarves of Orzammar, as they're all surface dwarves now. To go back on topic, it will definitely take a lot of time, effort and lives for the dwarves to take back all of the Deep Roads and their thaigs. As already suggested, the Orzammar dwarves need to remove its negative stigma around Casteless and surface dwarves to recover more land at a faster pace. They also need to cease demanding homage from Kal-Sharok and work together like when the kingdoms of Orzammar, Gundaar, Hormak and Kal-Sharok, for a time, aided each other. There seems to be still countless number of golems in the Deep Roads. If they manage to either give free will, like Shale, or recover control over these golems, they would have an army of golems. 74.104.188.60 (talk) 23:32, March 22, 2014 (UTC)
On the surface dwarves don't have kingdoms. They only act like they still have caste system on the surface.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 18:04, April 4, 2014 (UTC)
Dwarves have a lot of racism towards their surface brethren. Why do they build a surface kingdom and that's illogical. They will just choose to die in the deep roads than to live in the surface.112.200.54.121 (talk) 02:28, April 5, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, that's why i want the dwarves to have a revolution. The dwarves in my opinion have the might to expand above in areas which will make them prosper more. But this is merely my own OPINION. I love the dwarves, and it'd be equally satisfactory if they expanded under again. But that'll be hard. ---Lazare326 (talk)?

You can discuss about the revolt on Forum:Revolution of Casteless.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 20:23, April 4, 2014 (UTC)
If Harrowmont is the king then a revolt will began to fight for their right. Harrowmont is totally a traditionalist dwarf if he get the vote of the Assembly and the Anvil is preserved then he will put Dust Town into rubble.112.200.54.121 (talk) 02:35, April 5, 2014 (UTC)
