She has to be a Rogue from some point in famous history. She is mentioned in alot of Rogue weapon lore if memory serves.

Yes, there's lots of equipment named after her, Red Jenny Seekers, Red Jenny Backbiter etc. She has an awful lot of connections, the Friend in the Hanged Man is an associate, and the box in Irving's study can be delivered to "Friends of Red Jenny", who also appear to have connections with the Antivan Crows. She might be a 'he' for all we know. But whoever it is, is a friend. If you've ever heard of Red Jenny, then you too are a friend.

I agree with Teonlight about her being a rogue. She might possibly be an assassin? In Dragon Age II the "Friends of Red Jenny" seem to want the street gangs in Kirkwall dead for reasons good or evil it is not apparent yet. Necro or no, it still begs the question of who this Red Jenny is. Sera isn't much help, in her weird random way. Red Jenny may've been a person, may still be a person, or may just be an idea created buy a bunch of people tryin' to stick it at "not so nice people." She doesn't seem to know fully herself.
