Is PS3 Classic (80 GB), SOFT: 4.60 a good choice? Is 80 GB enough for DLCs, assuming I will play just one game at a time? What else do I have to know?

If you really are in the market for a console (as opposed to a new PC), it only makes sense to buy the latest gen (Xbox One or PS4), they are all but clones of each other and almost have the same specs and performance. All the upcoming games will be better on latest gen and you can expect new content/games to gradually phase out Xbox 360/PS3 support over the next few years. So base your choice of console on the games you like to play and their availability on either XBONE or PS4.

Also consider that you may need to purchase a TV or HDMI Monitor for the console, depends on your personal circumstances and you'll not be popular if you're hogging the family TV to play DA:I. One last bit of advice, don't buy a console or a new PC if the only reason for doing so is just to play DA:I Khandi (talk) 13:07, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

Get a PS4. Right now you can probably score some good deals during black Friday/Christmas sales. Definitely worth investing in a system that will be supported for 5-8 years. I would really not get the last generation, but if that's what you have to do, I would recommend a 120gb PS3 over 80. If you buy your games digitally, that 80g will fill up fast. --Elshiro (talk) 16:27, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

The PS4 has a confirmed exploit for easy instant gold, materials, and war room mission completion by setting the PS4's date forward one day and then back again. If you can get all that quickly before BioWare can patch it, then the PS4 is the best bet. You likely have at least two weeks for this. Other that that, I'd still say PS4 is the better system. The most that is different on the last gens is graphics and textures. Some things might have been removed from the environment, but they're very small, trivial things like a rock bed, for instance. Other than that, there's no real difference between them. They haven't actually rid of bigger, more important things. Characters are the same, as is character customization and gameplay (which is the most important). Go with what you already have on hand. If you already have one of the last gens and not a new gen, then go with the last gen. I wouldn't suggest shelling out a ton of money on a new gen just for one game, much less DAI (as much as I love DA). I have several friends who have the game on last gens, and they've enjoyed the game just as much as those with the new gens and PC (in fact, I've been seeing more complaints with the PC than I have with the last gens).

I also would not suggest going out to buy a new gen on Black Friday (of all days). Please, don't try to get yourself killed for one game. NutMeg29 (talk) 17:30, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

I agree that you don't need to shell out that much money, just use whatever you have at hand. I have a PS3 version and (after adjusting some of the settings) it works fine. The PC one has SO many issues at the moment you're better off using the console version anyway. If you can get a new gen at a steal then go for it but it isn't necessary. :I have had no issues with DAI on PC yet. I'm running it on ultra too :D What are peoples complaints? I'm guessing they don't meet the recommended specs. --Elshiro (talk) 20:50, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

Forums: Index > Game HelpWhich console shall I buy?
Note: This topic has been unedited for 3435 days. It is considered archived - the discussion is over. Do not continue it unless it really needs a response.

It turned out, I am unable to play DA:I on my laptop (dual cpu problem), so I got a refund from Origin and decided to buy a console. The thing is, I've never had one and have no knowledge of them at all. Could someone give me an advice on the matter? I'm thinking about PS3, but there are many versions of them and I don't know if the game will work on just any of them, or are there some minimal requirements? Which technical details should I look at? Will future games work on it too? 'Cause I can't really afford PS4... Is PS3 Classic (80 GB), SOFT: 4.60 a good choice? Is 80 GB enough for DLCs, assuming I will play just one game at a time? What else do I have to know? Thank you very much in advance for the feedback!

Don't get one fo the last gen consoles if you want to play DA:I. They had to cut back some stuff for the last gen versions to get them to work. Your best bet honestly is probably just getting a new PC.
