As I understand it you can keep Isabella while maintaining the position of returning the book to the qunari at the end of the second act. Her page says "If romanced, having a high enough friendship, or if you insist the relic should not be taken to Castillon, she will return at the end of the same act to return the relic to the Qunari, saying that you inspired her to do the right thing." I chose to romance Merill this time, so that's out of the picture, and I am on quite friendly terms with Isabella yet she didn't show up at the end. So my two questions are

1: How much friendship do you need with Isabella for her to show up?

2:What does it mean to "insist the relic should not be taken to Castillon"? I told her to return it to the Arishok but still she wouldn't show up.

Any thoughts? Swedish guy (talk) 21:23, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

I also wonder about this. I've gone through both ways - insisting that we return the book to the Qunari, and telling her she can have it - and both times, she disappears and doesn't return during the final battle with the Arishok. Both times, I was only moderately friendly with her, and not romantically involved. LesserBlackDog (talk) 21:33, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

I was not romantically involved with her, but we had very high friendship, and I told her she could keep the book. And she came back to help me with the Arishok. I never once insisted that we give the Qunari the relic. I was always in support of what she wanted. So ... (talk) 21:53, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

Your friendship with her must be on its top and you must allow her to have the book. Evaporate (talk) 22:46, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

Your friendship must be maxed out or her in a romance with you for her to come back.

-From my understanding, you must be maxed out in friendship, and be in favor for her. Not the qunari.

Maxed out is enough. I told her to return the book to the Qunari, she still returned. Dorquemada (talk) 10:16, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

She doesn't necessarily need full friendship, merely high friendship OR rivalry will be enough to make her return, telling her what to do with the book has no effect.- solus ego in aeternum impius sum angelus

The DA2 game guide says "Isabela is unique in that you must secure 50% friendship or rivalry and complete her Questioning Beliefs mid-stage relationship conversation before the end of Act 2 if you wish to retain her as a companion." "Questioning Beliefs" is the conversation you have with her during Act 2 only if friendship or rivalry is 50% or more. Skahaggus7 (talk) 13:21, April 6, 2011 (UTC)
