So i decided to play a new game of Awakening and looking at the map where that blood line travels along, I see small writing saying "the bannorns" or something like that, then I look into the corner and i see "south to Denerim" -_- <--- wtf? I look to the top left and I see "right to Highever" and I looks on the map of Thedas and Amaranthing/arling of Amaranthine isn't literally on top of Fereldan. ??? Why did they place something there then not update the first map? UndeadForLife (talk) 20:15, November 13, 2010 (UTC)

It's a little hard to tell what you're trying to say. Amaranthine is north of Denerim, it just isn't shown on the Origins map. LVTDUDE (talk) 22:40, November 13, 2010 (UTC)

Map of Amaranthine

Note: I corrected the spelling in the first post to make it a bit more legible, I wouldn't ordinarily do that but it seemed appropriate on this one.

Well, this here to the right is the map of Amaranthine that is used in Awakening. On the map itself if you look at the top left there is an arrow pointing to the left and the words "west to Highever", that is correct. At the bottom left the ma shows a small bit of the Bannorn past the Tarcaisne Ridge (which would seem to be a natural border between the Bannorn and Amaranthine). At the bottom of the map but more towards the right (south of the Wending Wood) are the words South to Denerim next to a road which continues southward off the map. In that map of Amaranthine and the map of Fereldan, the lands of Amaranthine are at the top of Fereldan. That little bit of land you can st the top of the map there is Brandel's Reach and the bit to the east there is Alamar, we don't exactly know anything about those islands aside from their relative position to Fereldan though (it's why those links don't go anywhere). As you can hopefully now see, they didn't change anything. All of the locations are in the exact same place as always.

I think what many find confusing is the zoomed in view of this map (compared to the Origins map) and the shapes of the peninsulas are all very similar in this area. LVTDUDE (talk) 07:14, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

---

What I find confusing is that Denerim isn't in the right place on the World Map in Origins.
Yes, it is. The Awakenings map is a very zoomed in map of the area north of Denerim on the Origins map. The area of the land the Awakenings map is much, much smaller than that of the one in Origins. It's like taking a view of the USA and zooming in on Maine. LVTDUDE (talk) 08:19, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Denerim is supposed to be righ next to Dragons Peak and Fort Drakon is supposed to be built into it sort of. In Origns Denerim lies very close to the Blackmarsh (on the awakening map) But on every other map Denerim is placed a bit more to the south, next to Dragons Peak--Melcolloien (talk) 07:43, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Exacly what im saying ^^ denerim is iter in the wrong place or amaranthine is wrong (btw thanks fro fixing my spellinh mistakes) 12:23, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

That's right Denerim on the Origins world map of Fereldan is placed incorrectly. You can see that Bioware are aware of this in the fact that they have corrected Denerims position for the world map in the Witch Hunt DLC even though you can't travel to it. Check it out for yourself. I was pleased that Bioware was aware of that because it had been bothering me as well. Elephanto (talk)

@Elephanto oh yeah, that'r right! I forgot about that, but it made me happy as well when I played Witch Hunt :)--Melcolloien (talk) 00:26, November 15, 2010 (UTC)
