I was strolling through the interwebs, and i couldnt help but think, am i the only person who hates Sebastian but still respects him? i see plenty of "he's a brainwashed douche" or "well, hes better than Anders" but i think it is nice to see a character that sticks to their guns. Also, im glad they finally threw in a single gender romance-able character for Da2. He is who he is, and im glad, because my Hawke was kind of a whore. So it was actually a pleasant change to be rejected. thoughts?—Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs)

Straight and celibate are two very different things. Taking vows against hedonism doesn't make you straight, just asexual. Shadizar666 (Ruck Rules) 03:34, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
I think Sebastian remains celibate only if he's in Friendship with Hawke, since he vows to reclaim Starkhaven in Rivalry with Hawke. As for the OP, I didn't see any problem with making the companions available to straight, gay, and bisexual players. I know some people were upset that Alistair and Morrigan were straight in Origins, and wished they could have romanced those companions with their respective Wardens. That said, it would be a shame if the plot of Inquisition railroaded the player into being as passive as Hawke. I can understand the frustration in having Sebastian threaten someone Hawke potentially cares about, but no nothing about it (just like Hawke did on numerous occasions in the main game, and again in the end of both story DLCs). The protagonist shouldn't be scripted to simply stand idly by and do nothing in those moments. Lobsel Vith (talk) 17:01, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

I hoped no new topic about him will appear, because I'm tired of this how many people scold him. Most of people hate him and regret they can't kill him, most of them are Anders lovers. I like Sebastian, despite he was presented in trailer as a different person, I still liked him, not as much as Varric or Fenris or Bethany. I respected him and "gave him a school of life" by showing him how cruel is world and reality contradicts his thoughs. I wanted him to become a prince. People hate him for and being a devote, I have a religious friend, I'm tolerable. I fully understood his wrath, his behaviour wasn't hipocrisy, it was a trauma, it changes people. In Drak Knight a rightful man and lawyer Harvey Dent turned into a monster because of trauma he experienced. Sebastian wanted Anders' death, I had no problem with this, because I also wanted him dead for doing exacly what I wanted to avoid. Sebastian has no influence on my decisons, we simply wanted the same thing. People say he's a dangerous fanatic, but Anders is far more dangerous and more fanatical. People say he's useless on battlefield and weaker than Varric, by this logic Hawke as archer is also useless. People always compare him to Anders, and I hate the letter, he annoyed me with his obsession and never changed subject and he was the one I hate, not Sebastian. Sebastian still has fans just like Fenris. I don't care, if others disagree with me. Saemus said "If I am lost to the Maker for refusing to hate someone, for finding beauty in the "other"...well, perhaps the Maker is the one who is not worthy of me." That's how I think about those, who hate me for refusing to hate Sebastian. (talk) 21:46, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

OP, by straight do you mean his sexuality or his integrity?. If the former then that can come across as homophobic, I would have used a different word. Also, your Hawke being a 'whore' is your fault, you decide whom he or she sleeps with, so that doesn't make a lick of sense. You also don't explain why you hate Sebastian, which leads me to wonder what your thoughts on him are. I can't really share my thoughts with you if I don't understand your opinion.--Agent047 (talk) 22:42, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

OP, you're bad at trolling, really. Get some skill. -Algol- (talk) 23:39, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

i understand. i didnt like how orientation was done in da2 either. being straight or gay has a tendency to play a part in ones personality (though not always), and having all the character's sexual orientations be dependent on the player made the characters a bit less defined for me. Having bisexual characters who were intended to be bisexual is okay, but i would like some characters to be just straight and some to be just gay. there's also no love interests in all of da who are exclusively gay, which i think is also weird wheres all the dudes who are only into dudes? --CarloGrimaldi (talk) 09:14, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
