When is it ok to start a new page on a historical character? Obviously if all we have is a name and a title, there is no point in creating a page. But often there is some additional information. For example, can Kordillus II have his own page? Can Thalsian? – mostlyautumntalkcontribs • 10:32, June 22, 2013 (UTC)

I recently created a page about Hirol. My main criteria is that the historical character should be notable enough and we know enough information about the character in order to sustain a page on its own. But I think we should code what we should expect in order to nominate it afterwards for implementation in the MOS. Na via lerno victoria 14:10, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
Don't we have a collated index for all the historical people? Like on UESP Wiki (the non-Wikia go-to wiki) for example, they have pretty much every person of historical importance in an index/glossary format, people like Nerevar, Olaf One-Eye, Ysgramor, etc., people that are important to know about in those games but never make any actual appearance. On the other hand, the Elder Scrolls Wiki (Wikia version) gives all three of those people individual pages, so I don't really see a problem since the Wikia platform seems set up to accommodate this. If there's a Codex entry that gives us significantly more than a name and date, I suggest giving that person their own page and linking to that Codex page's wiki page in a "see also" sort of way. In the case of Thalsian, no, because there's no Codex that specifically details his accolades in great depth. RShepard227 (talk) 14:53, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
Well, Thalsian entry can go like this (links and references omitted for the sake of simplicity):
Thalsian, also known as the First Priest of Dumat, is a legendary Neromenian Dreamer, one of the first among the humans said to communicate with the Old Gods in visions of a "Realm of the Gods" (assumed to be the Fade). He is the first person known to wield blood magic (circa -1495 Ancient), claiming to learn the art after personally communicating with Dumat.
The Chantry lore claims that Thalsian was the first Archon and magister of the Tevinter Imperium who used blood magic learned from Dumat to attain his power. In return he established the first temples worshiping the Old Gods. According to other sources, it was Darinius who became the first Archon and united the tribes into the Imperium in -1195 Ancient. Darinius established the magisterum from the priesthood and named Thalsian an honorary Archon.
Yay or nay? :) – mostlyautumntalkcontribs • 16:09, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
I give it a yay. --SpectreAngel (talk) 21:18, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
Very well, yay. As long as you cite the codex entry The Old Gods where appropriate, it'll have enough content to merit its own page. Otherwise it'll just be filler that can spiral into conjecture. RShepard227 (talk) 05:17, June 23, 2013 (UTC)
I created the page: Archon Thalsian. I'm still interested in establishing some sort of criteria for when to create a page though. – mostlyautumntalkcontribs • 08:35, June 23, 2013 (UTC)
Good job! I already did a wiki walk and learned about Darinius and Endrin Stonehammer in addition to Thalsian because of that page. ...That's a good thing, right? RShepard227 (talk) 14:52, June 23, 2013 (UTC)

I thought that was the point of Wikis like this (as opposed to Wikipedia) where trivial pages with small bits of information could exist. DAWUSS (talk) 12:53, June 23, 2013 (UTC)
