Would you make an Tranquil companion? An companion who's extremely pro-chantry? An elf who is is proud of being elven? I'm curious - if you could create an companion for Dragon Age 4 then what type of companion would you like in the game?

Please sign. Anyway, I'd like there to be a romanceable female dwarf, as we haven't had that yet. Or any female dwarf, aside from Sigrun and DAA wasn't a full game. I'm thinking she should be rogue - dwarves can't be mages of course, and the whole dwarf warrior thing is so overplayed. She should be a redheaded because ask Bull, and it'd be best to link her to the inquisition somehow, in order to have some continuity...

Wait, she sounds familiar. Nevermind, we all already know that Dagna will be in DA 4. Silver Warden (talk) 22:58, November 18, 2015 (UTC)

Probably a character who was basically a walking composite of tropes who was in on the joke, and often broke the Fourth Wall to point out their own ridiculousness within the plot and of the plot itself as often as the limits of humour allow. Or pretty much a character designed to take the piss out of the series in a fashion devoid of any "we know it's not all bad" tone. 'Cause, frankly, it really is that bad. EzzyD (talk) 01:00, November 19, 2015 (UTC)

Well, shit. I think you've created a worthy successor for Viscount Varric. RShepard227 (talk) 01:28, November 20, 2015 (UTC)

I like companions that have unique personalities. A Tranquil would not have any personality, so that is not someone I would want in the party. Maybe a Tranquil that was made non-tranquil? I could see that as very interesting. But in reality, I would like someone like Sergent Kylon from Origins. The first time I met him in Denerim I laughed myself right out of my chair. That is the kind of sarcasm I want on my adventures. --50.100.235.35 (talk) 03:34, November 20, 2015 (UTC)

If I had to come up with something:

- Male Human Mage: a High ranking Tevinter commander or soldier (or however tevinter's military works) that has more progressive views compared to other tevinter militants. extremely pragmatic, He believes his liberal view is to strengthen rather than fix as Dorian puts it. Similar to Cullen or Cassandra in personality. Ironically he has a very "warrior/soldier" like personality, Approving of honor, strength, duty, straightforward actions and respecting enemies who deserve it, etc

- either gender Dwarven Warrior: An enforcer who works for the local merchants guild in tevinter. unlike most dwarven warriors, this one is generally calm and peaceful. A veteran of the 5th blight, previously one the members of the legion who went topside to fight. After seeing the the world above they decided to retire on to the surface rather than die in the Deep roads and had stayed thier. Despite this they ended up getting blackmailed by the dwarven merchants guild and forced to work as an enforcer. Generally easygoing, they approve of avoiding conflict, using guile and cunning to trick enemies, anti-magic and generally doing charismatic things (short of bribery and threats)

- Male Elven warrior: a rebel and outlaw. They are a tevinter boogeyman, raiding and attacking Magister homes and creating slave uprisings. They are pretty much anarchists. This character is an almost dark version of Sera. the warrior them self is a charismatic rogue (think Han Solo) and they approve of being dominant, rebellious, picking the underdog, winning at any cost, disrespecting those who deserve it, abusing loopholes, making money, and being sneaky. They dislike mistreating slaves and lower class people, making deals that won't go anywhere, being genre blind, encouraging dependence.

- female Qunari rogue: an actual Qunari defector turned mercenary assassin for Dorian's new faction (don't remember what its called). They are naive about the world and seek to learn more. this character is quite inquisitive and generally interested in magic. Views the qunari as a dying philosophy and will give more "accurate(unbiased)" knowledge on qunari culture. approves of asking questions, pro magic, and disapproves of militaristic personality --172.9.184.121 (talk) 06:39, November 20, 2015 (UTC)

I'm hoping for Calpernia and a "fleshed out" Shale as companions, as well as a bad ass fog warrior and a tevinter templar who stands up to magisters. Also, an elven sentinel that either disagrees with Solas, or doesn't hide the fact that he/she's a spy, and only wants to help the player defeat the Qunari/Imperium to free the elven slaves. Also a female qunari. Crimpycracker (talk) 17:38, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

Isn't Shale dead? Either the Warden kills her when he kills Caridin or...something else happens which has her die anyway, I can't remember what. I think it was in one of the books which I haven't read, where she tried to un-golem herself or something. Silver Warden (talk) 20:22, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

^^^ No, if you don't bring Shale she remains with the party. In the epilogue she leaves with Wynne to Tevinter.

Shale's not dead necessarily. If you don't kill her with Caridin, she'll travel with Wynne, who's the one who dies in the book. Also, Shale's a rock. How does one kill stone anyhow? It'd be more believable for Shale to come back from the dead than Leliana... But I'm hoping Bioware goes out of their way and lets players recruit characters that could have died in previous games, a la Garrus and Tali. Crimpycracker (talk) 21:24, November 24, 2015 (UTC)
I see. FYI, here are some ways to kill golems: 1) dump them in lava 2) freeze them and then shatter them 3) get a dragon to grab them and then fly up really high, then drop them 4) suck their souls out using some kind of magic (Flemythal was able to do that with Keiran) 5) attack them with a dreadnaught 6) get a bunch of qunari to restrain them, then give another qunari a chisel and/or a pick axe 7) use their control rod to tell them to jump off of the top of a mountain 8) hit them with a lightning spell over and over, until they crumble apart 9) immobilize them and drop them at the bottom of a very large lake/the ocean (okay so technically they'd still be alive, but they might as well be dead) 10) have a mage turn them into a chicken and squash them. Silver Warden (talk) 20:50, November 25, 2015 (UTC)

A female dwarf would be nice. They could bring Valta back as a full party member, right? Just to properly deal with that "oh, by the way, I'm maybe the first ever dwarven mage, okay bye" moment? Or perhaps Harding, since she's kind of the darkhorse of the Inquisition's non-playable cast. Or both, just to keep either from being a token. 70.234.237.114 (talk) 22:30, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

I think I'd like companions that have to deal with fallout from previous game decisions. For example, a Warden mage, in the wake of what happened at Adamant Fortress (and very likely the civil war within the Grey Warden ranks); An Orlesian bard, more like Argent than Leliana, but someone very active in the Game who's been sent to Tevinter, has information on how Orlais has recovered from Corypheus/the civil war/the Exalted Council; and lastly, a Dalish warrior, probably one who is devoted to the Vir Tanadhal, fuming about the Inquisition's "delusional" findings about the Evanuris and willfully blind to the reality of so many elves up and abandoning their posts to flock to Solas' banner, and his companion quest will be about him coming to terms with this reality of not just city elves leaving, but Dalish as well. If I can only pick one, priority goes to the Dalish warrior. RShepard227 (talk) 00:58, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Oghren's kid make an appearance; he was a "nugget" in Awakening, so enough time has passed that he could theoretically be a young party member. I just hope we don't see Feynriel or Connor for our mage companions. TraumaKitty (talk) 01:12, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

Both of those characters can die, so probably not. However, if Feynriel lives (and is not possessed) it would be nice to see him in a minor role for an optional quest or event. Silver Warden (talk) 19:07, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

The mabari from origins. Since the end of the blight and the disappearance/death of the warden, wandered the world in search of his master. But on deaths door, longing for a final goodbye from his master, he witnessed the breach. And within minutes was possessed. By a demon or spirit remains unclear. All that the manari hound has lived long past his lifespan, and has begun a transformation.

That'd be the backstory. The player would be able to influence how the spirit within changes and in turn change the hounds appearance. A noble werewolf esque abomination, or a grotesque and twisted image of his former self. Who the character is, will be dependent on the players style. Are they a bastard, he will learn by example and become a bastard as well. I still think it'd be nice to see the return of a mabari sidekick.

My other idea is a dwarven warrior character, who could be made into sandal, or a better choice would be a valta-esque character. A savant at runemaking, this dwarf crafts the most elegant armor. And works lyrium into it in such a way that the wearer is granted the strength of an ogre. But this secret is one they guard with their life. Only they can wear it, or they will not maintain it. And its power will fade. Silent they stand, dedicated to only speaking when necessary. And making sure what they say is of the upmost importance. Their first words to are.... Something that remarks about the protagonist's role in the plot is said and they can become a companion. I think it would also be nice to have the golems earth shake and slam powers back. I miss those. DeakialSig1 20:47, November 25, 2015 (UTC)

A bipedal nug with a massive superiority complex, a foul temper, and intricate knowledge of the lost art of mud magic. ----Isolationistmagi 20:26, November 26, 2015 (UTC)

I kind of want to see the prespectives of fhe other fraternities...blah blah magey freedoom blah templars aren't so bad blah blah...but what about the money? A lucrosian mage would be interesting or an isolationist mage you just find in the woods, who doesn't know anything about the new big bad. Another one that would be interesting is a half-elf character, especially since mr. Scary Mutt is trying to start his new (old) world, what would their place be? John the Manic (talk) 03:43, November 28, 2015 (UTC)

I'd love to see a Disciple companion at some point, someone who could really show how universal a problem Solas is. After all, there are surely surviving Disciples from both the Architect's and the Mother's camps, even if both are dead. Additionally, enough time has passed since Awakening that one might have formed its own perspective on the world. It just bugs me that they basically seem to have discarded something with so much potential, and I'd love to see the idea of a non-hivemind Darkspawn played with again. Eggy the Duck (talk) 16:22, November 28, 2015 (UTC)

I'd definitely be interested in a Tranquil companion, for their personal quest you could be researching a cure for Tranquility and then help them decide whether they want to remain as they are or possible go back to emotion and all of the problems and pleasures it brings. It has the potential to be very interesting indeed. Friendlysociopath (talk) 19:24, November 28, 2015 (UTC)

Liam Crane

Race: Human

Class: Rogue

History: Liam was once a mage that hailed from the Rivain Circle of Magi. A year before the events of Kirkwall, Liam stumbled upon a conspiracy to take control of the circle and templar order, led by a senior enchanter and knight-captain. Liam worked to stop the take over and was able revesl it to the templars before being captured by the conspirators. By the time the templars found and arrested the conspirators, they had already made Liam tranquil. Liam lived as a normal tranquil until the Rivain circle was annulled; with templars seeing all mages as threat, as well as killing tranquils as well, Liam decided to learn how to use blades in an effort to protect himself and his former fellow mages, and joined a group called the Black Magicians. Due to being a tranquil, Liam doesn't feel emotion, but remembers how how he acted before becoming tranquil; in the presence of others, Liam can perfectly act out how he used to behave, knowing when the old him should act happy, sad, or angry, completely fooling other people. Being tranquil might have taken away his emotions, but it didn't change his his sense of right and wrong. He wears a headband to hide his tranquil brand.

Personality: pre-tranquil Liam was a joker and prankster, but held a strong sense of right and wrong. Tranquil Liam recreates this personality to have others be at ease around him.

Specialization: Magician: There was once a group of rogues that witnessed the power of mages, and unlike most who fear it, they were in awe of it. Thus came their goal of obtaining their own brand of magic. The group called themselves the Black Magicians. A style of timing, misdirection, and deceit was born that recreated the effects of some magic styles. Special odorless and colorless powders and gases used to confound an enemy's mind and weaken their bodies and interfere with a real mage's magic, recreating the effects of Entropy and Spirit. Quick and unseen Elemental bombs and traps make others believe the elements are under your control. Quick movements and hidden smoke bombs create the illusion of vanishing and reappearing. Rare herbs and alchemic potions heal and enhance the user and their allies. So realistic are the effects that templars truly believe that magicians are actually mages, only to learn the truth when going to apprehend them, much to their embarrassment. Rumors rise that the magicians goal and desire to obtain magic was so great, that a new kind of magic was actually created from that desire; whether this rumor is true or not is yet to be revealed.(Some may think I've stolen this idea from someone else, but my id just changed when I moved and got a new computer. This companion is my idea)--104.179.120.57 (talk) 05:04, December 1, 2015 (UTC)

-Renasan Bellanaris

Race: Elf

Class: Mage

History: Renasan was First to the Keeper of his clan, and he loved to say it. The pride he felt when he said this was apparent in his very features. He adored his clan and his station. But his life took a turn for the worse when his clan ran across a group of caravans driven by Tevinter slavers. At first sight of the elves the slavers attacked. Most of his clan died in the ensuing battle but Renasan and a few others barely lived long enough to surrender. They were captured and taken to Qarinus to be sold. Renasan was bought by a magister by the name of Cornelius Malitiosi. For a time he was just the magister's servant, giving him drinks when requested, bringing his papers, giving jobs to other servants. He could never become accustomed to a life of servitude but this wasn't as bad as he thought it would be, this would at least allow him time to plan his escape. But he soon realized that the magister was only trying to lure him into a sense of false security. One night Cornelius asked for his evening tea and as Renasan was bringing it to him, he felt the heaviness of a sleeping spell fall unto his mind. He did his best to fight it but he could do nothing. When he awoke he was upon a large circular platform in the middle of a large dark room. The only light in the room came from a strange glow the circle admitted. He felt the circle sapping his magic and when he tried to leave it, he was faced with an invisible but very solid wall, he was trapped. What seemed like days after he awoke in the room, Cornelius entered. And then the experiments started. The magister had been trying for years to created something like an abomination but....not. He aimed to find a way to fuse a spirit of the Fade with a soul of a still living person. He was so close and he knew that he would succeed with Renasan. The elven mage went through excruciating pain all in the name of the magister's ambition, until the day where he accomplished his goal. He had pulled a spirit of Compassion, named Love, from the Fade and fused it's essence with Renasan's soul's. Renasan felt the difference within him, he was able to look at Cornelius and see all the love and pain he had felt in his heart over his life-time. Every thought that came to Renasan's head seemed to have an ethereal echo, as if to voices where speaking within his head at once. But Cornelius didn't stop there. He wanted to see if there was a limit to how many souls could be fused. More pain came until the magister found his answer. Months later, Renasan was fused with another spirit, a Fear Demon by the name of Loss. He could now see the fear of failure in Cornelius's eyes as he wrote notes and prepared for more experiments. The pain only worsened as Cornelius tried to fuse more and more spirits to him, but none of them stuck. It took Cornelius weeks to realize that the there was indeed a limit to how many souls can be fused. Cornelius then began examining Renasan's behavior, going as far as to even release him from his bindings for short periods of time. Renasan eventually found a chink in the barrier Cornelius had created to contain him, waiting to exploit it and make his escape. Then, one night as Cornelius slept soundly in his bed, Renasan made his escape. He grabbed the mage's favored staff and a robe and ran, never looking back. It took him a very long time, but eventually Renasan escaped Tevinter all together, going all the way to Orlais.

Personality: Renasan is quite and reserved. Opting to keep to himself rather than talk to others. He is also overly apologetic, apologizing for anything he thinks people would take offense at. He is also very caring and considerate, wanting to help all those he comes across whom are in need.

Homosexual Romance Option

Ways to gain Approval:

  • Helping those in need
  • Siding with mages
  • Siding against Blood Magic
  • Siding with elves
  • Siding against Tevinter

Specialization:

Trinity- As a result of exstensive experimentation on his spiritual self, Renasan was forcibly fused with two spirit, Compassion and Fear, or more specifically Love and Loss. As a result, along with his latent magical abilities he is able to take on properties of each spirit in battle to grant certain abilities. In Compassionate Presence Mode, he is able to become intangible, as well as take on characteristics from the Keeper and Spirit Healer specializations as well as the Shadow specialization. In Fearful Visage Mode, he is able to use the Fade Step ability of normal Fear Demons as well as summon fearlings, as well as take on characteristics from the Knight-Enchanter, Necromancer and Reaver specializations. Name: Claudia Pastor Race: Human Class: Roguish-Warrior

History: Claudia is a young, dark haired fighter with the mage rebellion. She was born in Ostwick where she grew up with her family, a relatively normal and uneventful childhood. When her family was killed as a direct result of the mage rebellion, she was spiteful and abandoned the city with her longtime bestfriend Darrek Renoir and his younger sister Rose. The two eventually found themselves in Kirkwall, and at the heart of the mage rebellion she realized the suffering that befell some of these same mages was harsher than anything she had ever experienced. Her sympathy grew for the mages, and she eventually began travelling with a young mage who desperately tried to hide his powers. In a small fit of rage he pushed away his mother with his power alone, and the templar attempted to slay him on the spot. Claudia was determined to protect him, and killed him. In a panic she grabbed the young man by his arm, and dragged him away with her companions. In time she found herself among a group of refugee mages and tranquil, who took her in despite initial mistrust. She helped them navigate the Free Marches and simultaneously avoid the Templars for a time, however it did not last. They were discovered by a small templar force, who tried to arrest them all. After some of the mages resisted, nearly half of her group was slain. She and Darrek took up arms to fight the Templars, and after killing a few and injuring some, they fled to Ansburg. In Ansburg they spent some time sheltered in a chantry by an elderly revered mother, who fed them and offered them safe passage to Ferelden through the Waking Sea. One morning they awoke to see that the Revered Mother had betrayed them to the Templars. Many were killed, and the rest imprisoned. For her crimes, Claudia was taken to Val Royeaux to await execution in the name of Andraste and the Chantry. Shortly after, the raid on the White Spire began and she was spared in the ensuing panic. She escaped with the young boy she had earlier saved, now calling himself Orin. He reveals to her that Darrek was slain in his defense, and in her grief she takes in Orin as her sibling, attempting to preserve the facade he once did.

A vashoth male warrior thought by parents to hate Qun. He wants to be a part of something big like templars, wardens, seekers, ash warriors or something. Instead of armor chestpiece he can just put a shield with proper symbol on his chest. A purpose seeker.

A tal-vashoth female archer with absolute hate towards the Qun and Tevinter. With her philosophy she could easily join the fog warriors.178.37.151.160 (talk) 09:01, December 30, 2015 (UTC)
