My other idea is a dwarven warrior character, who could be made into sandal, or a better choice would be a valta-esque character. A savant at runemaking, this dwarf crafts the most elegant armor. And works lyrium into it in such a way that the wearer is granted the strength of an ogre. But this secret is one they guard with their life. Only they can wear it, or they will not maintain it. And its power will fade. Silent they stand, dedicated to only speaking when necessary. And making sure what they say is of the upmost importance. Their first words to are.... Something that remarks about the protagonist's role in the plot is said and they can become a companion. I think it would also be nice to have the golems earth shake and slam powers back. I miss those. [[File:DeakialSig1.png|100px|link=User:ACdeakial]] 20:47, November 25, 2015 (UTC)

Would you make an Tranquil companion? An companion who's extremely pro-chantry? An elf who is is proud of being elven? I'm curious - if you could create an companion for Dragon Age 4 then what type of companion would you like in the game?

Please sign. Anyway, I'd like there to be a romanceable female dwarf, as we haven't had that yet. Or any female dwarf, aside from Sigrun and DAA wasn't a full game. I'm thinking she should be rogue - dwarves can't be mages of course, and the whole dwarf warrior thing is so overplayed. She should be a redheaded because ask Bull, and it'd be best to link her to the inquisition somehow, in order to have some continuity...

Wait, she sounds familiar. Nevermind, we all already know that Dagna will be in DA 4. Silver Warden (talk) 22:58, November 18, 2015 (UTC)

Probably a character who was basically a walking composite of tropes who was in on the joke, and often broke the Fourth Wall to point out their own ridiculousness within the plot and of the plot itself as often as the limits of humour allow. Or pretty much a character designed to take the piss out of the series in a fashion devoid of any "we know it's not all bad" tone. 'Cause, frankly, it really is that bad. Well, shit. I think you've created a worthy successor for Viscount Varric. RShepard227 (talk) 01:28, November 20, 2015 (UTC)

I like companions that have unique personalities. A Tranquil would not have any personality, so that is not someone I would want in the party. Maybe a Tranquil that was made non-tranquil? I could see that as very interesting. But in reality, I would like someone like Sergent Kylon from Origins. The first time I met him in Denerim I laughed myself right out of my chair. That is the kind of sarcasm I want on my adventures. --50.100.235.35 (talk) 03:34, November 20, 2015 (UTC)

If I had to come up with something:

- Male Human Mage: a High ranking Tevinter commander or soldier (or however tevinter's military works) that has more progressive views compared to other tevinter militants. extremely pragmatic, He believes his liberal view is to strengthen rather than fix as Dorian puts it. Similar to Cullen or Cassandra in personality. Ironically he has a very "warrior/soldier" like personality, Approving of honor, strength, duty, straightforward actions and respecting enemies who deserve it, etc

- either gender Dwarven Warrior: An enforcer who works for the local merchants guild in tevinter. unlike most dwarven warriors, this one is generally calm and peaceful. A veteran of the 5th blight, previously one the members of the legion who went topside to fight. After seeing the the world above they decided to retire on to the surface rather than die in the Deep roads and had stayed thier. Despite this they ended up getting blackmailed by the dwarven merchants guild and forced to work as an enforcer. Generally easygoing, they approve of avoiding conflict, using guile and cunning to trick enemies, anti-magic and generally doing charismatic things (short of bribery and threats)

- Male Elven warrior: a rebel and outlaw. They are a tevinter boogeyman, raiding and attacking Magister homes and creating slave uprisings. They are pretty much anarchists. This character is an almost dark version of Sera. the warrior them self is a charismatic rogue (think Han Solo) and they approve of being dominant, rebellious, picking the underdog, winning at any cost, disrespecting those who deserve it, abusing loopholes, making money, and being sneaky. They dislike mistreating slaves and lower class people, making deals that won't go anywhere, being genre blind, encouraging dependence.

- female Qunari rogue: an actual Qunari defector turned mercenary assassin for Dorian's new faction (don't remember what its called). They are naive about the world and seek to learn more. this character is quite inquisitive and generally interested in magic. Views the qunari as a dying philosophy and will give more "accurate(unbiased)" knowledge on qunari culture. approves of asking questions, pro magic, and disapproves of militaristic personality --172.9.184.121 (talk) 06:39, November 20, 2015 (UTC)

I'm hoping for Calpernia and a "fleshed out" Shale as companions, as well as a bad ass fog warrior and a tevinter templar who stands up to magisters. Also, an elven sentinel that either disagrees with Solas, or doesn't hide the fact that he/she's a spy, and only wants to help the player defeat the Qunari/Imperium to free the elven slaves. Also a female qunari. Crimpycracker (talk) 17:38, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

Isn't Shale dead? Either the Warden kills her when he kills Caridin or...something else happens which has her die anyway, I can't remember what. I think it was in one of the books which I haven't read, where she tried to un-golem herself or something. Silver Warden (talk) 20:22, November 21, 2015 (UTC)
Shale's not dead necessarily. If you don't kill her with Caridin, she'll travel with Wynne, who's the one who dies in the book. Also, Shale's a rock. How does one kill stone anyhow? It'd be more believable for Shale to come back from the dead than Leliana... But I'm hoping Bioware goes out of their way and lets players recruit characters that could have died in previous games, a la Garrus and Tali. Crimpycracker (talk) 21:24, November 24, 2015 (UTC)
I see. FYI, here are some ways to kill golems: 1) dump them in lava 2) freeze them and then shatter them 3) get a dragon to grab them and then fly up really high, then drop them 4) suck their souls out using some kind of magic (Flemythal was able to do that with Keiran) 5) attack them with a dreadnaught 6) get a bunch of qunari to restrain them, then give another qunari a chisel and/or a pick axe 7) use their control rod to tell them to jump off of the top of a mountain 8) hit them with a lightning spell over and over, until they crumble apart 9) immobilize them and drop them at the bottom of a very large lake/the ocean (okay so technically they'd still be alive, but they might as well be dead) 10) have a mage turn them into a chicken and squash them. Silver Warden (talk) 20:50, November 25, 2015 (UTC)

A female dwarf would be nice. They could bring Valta back as a full party member, right? Just to properly deal with that "oh, by the way, I'm maybe the first ever dwarven mage, okay bye" moment? Or perhaps Harding, since she's kind of the darkhorse of the Inquisition's non-playable cast. Or both, just to keep either from being a token. 70.234.237.114 (talk) 22:30, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

I think I'd like companions that have to deal with fallout from previous game decisions. For example, a Warden mage, in the wake of what happened at Adamant Fortress (and very likely the civil war within the Grey Warden ranks); An Orlesian bard, more like Argent than Leliana, but someone very active in the Game who's been sent to Tevinter, has information on how Orlais has recovered from Corypheus/the civil war/the Exalted Council; and lastly, a Dalish warrior, probably one who is devoted to the Vir Tanadhal, fuming about the Inquisition's "delusional" findings about the Evanuris and willfully blind to the reality of so many elves up and abandoning their posts to flock to Solas' banner, and his companion quest will be about him coming to terms with this reality of not just city elves leaving, but Dalish as well. If I can only pick one, priority goes to the Dalish warrior. RShepard227 (talk) 00:58, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Oghren's kid make an appearance; he was a "nugget" in Awakening, so enough time has passed that he could theoretically be a young party member. I just hope we don't see Feynriel or Connor for our mage companions. TraumaKitty (talk) 01:12, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

Both of those characters can die, so probably not. However, if Feynriel lives (and is not possessed) it would be nice to see him in a minor role for an optional quest or event. Silver Warden (talk) 19:07, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

The mabari from origins. Since the end of the blight and the disappearance/death of the warden, wandered the world in search of his master. But on deaths door, longing for a final goodbye from his master, he witnessed the breach. And within minutes was possessed. By a demon or spirit remains unclear. All that the manari hound has lived long past his lifespan, and has begun a transformation.

That'd be the backstory. The player would be able to influence how the spirit within changes and in turn change the hounds appearance. A noble werewolf esque abomination, or a grotesque and twisted image of his former self. Who the character is, will be dependent on the players style. Are they a bastard, he will learn by example and become a bastard as well. I still think it'd be nice to see the return of a mabari sidekick.
