Like, it´s coming for PS4, but I don´t know if it adds THAT much of cool things... What do you guys think? Archon123 (talk) 02:21, May 25, 2015 (UTC)

I started to watch YouTube videos when I was not sure about it. People tend to bash on a thing like little children, so I want to see the things I buy in real to make my own judgement. I love this DLC, but without good gear it is pretty hard.

Its a great DLC, definitely more to do than previous DLC, and it definitely kicks up the difficulty a little bit which is fun. --Elshiro (talk) 20:17, May 25, 2015 (UTC)

I hope it's good too. I'm going to grab it on payday. Can't wait! :D --59.101.65.75 (talk) 13:35, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

WHOOPS, that was me, forgot to sign in. --HorrorKnight (talk) 13:42, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

From what I know and have seen of JoH, you may or may not like it. I think it's ok. It does flesh out the Avvar a lot along with the last Inquisitor's story and there is a lot of loot and new tier 4 crafting materials. Plus it is pretty challenging (the game suggests you be at least level 20 before playing it). However on the other hand, the DLC has no real connection to the main story. What I mean is that no party members or NPCs will make mention of what happened there. It's basically a self-contained storyline with no effect on the main story. Also it's kinda expensive ($15) and may be hard for the potential buyer to justify that price. 97.117.168.176 (talk) 21:10, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

Certain conversations in JoH do make note of your main campaign such as if you have beaten Corypheus or not. --Elshiro (talk) 01:11, May 27, 2015 (UTC)
I meant the other way around. Outside of the DLC, nobody talks about your exploits there (apart from some war table missions I think). 97.117.168.176 (talk) 03:41, May 27, 2015 (UTC)

Personally speaking, I thought it was a brilliant addition. I've always played on nightmare difficulty and I can definitely say that they made this DLC challenging (for reference's sake, I never had my whole team KO during the course of the main game; in JoH I think I wiped about 10x). Hopefully, that's doesn't put people off though, as it actually made me play in a much more tactical way, i.e. actually using tac-cam (if only for positioning), potions/grenades, etc.). All in all, a nice add-on & the lore is pretty decent too. Chihang1990 (talk) 21:16, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure if it is worth the price, but it is a really fun DLC. It's heavy on the lore as well. I don't regret bybuying it, but as i said, the price was a bit steep. User signature henioo henioo (da talk page) 04:42, May 27, 2015 (UTC)

Expensive for what it is, would not recommend buying it personally, it's basically another zone with a handful of cutscenes, at best.--Shaerala (talk) 18:06, June 2, 2015 (UTC)

Bought it, got started, forgot to go back and complete it; might just do that now that the game is completed. Unlike previous DA DLC's, you need to be of a respectable level to bother with it. Point of fact, if you're still stuck in Fereldan, you're too damnably weak; when you begin to consider giants and dragons, you can think about tackling this DLC. JoH is meant for the post-game. Heading there right out of the Hinterlands will get you killed. It's also the only area where you can get reliable XP from mobs past the mid 20s. Even the Hissing Wastes and Emprise du Lion cap out at around 23. The Forstback Basin has mobs that go up to 27, with one group spawning at 30.

It's a good DLC. Where or not it's worth it depends on an individual's finical situation. It's better than all of the Origins DLC expect Awakening, and that was an expansion it's not exactly a fair comparison. Definitely more content than any DLC other than Awakening too. It's more expensive because it offers more. You could easily spend 15+ hours on it if you do everything. Other DLC offer maybe 2-5 hours at five dollars less. More bang for your buck, IMO. Maker's runs!!! I'm playing Hard, and Coriphyus is a pussy compared to this crap!!! Shadizar666 (Ruck Rules) 04:05, July 15, 2015 (UTC)
Try 'nightmare'... I wiped about 10x but struggled on through to completion :) You're right about Cory though, I completed JoH before facing him; I was maxed out at lv.27 and, to be blunt, it was a piece of piss! I think Cory must be capped at 24 (possibly 25 I can't quite remember) as I finished JoH 1st because I thought it might've made the fight at the SP end a little more challenging; turns out, it didn't. :( Chihang1990 (talk) 16:49, July 15, 2015 (UTC)

Yes playing on normal and the frost giant was a real challenge and the whole thing wasn't a walkover. If you love lore like I do it has some great background on the Avar and the First Inquisitor's story is really interesting, some great loot even from the rifts which are challenging and it saved me a lot of jumping around to get the difficult sherds in the main story. There are some funny moments to do with the Avar hold beast and some more background for and great moments with Scout Harding including some with the researcher guy who has his moments too. The area also looks stunningly beautiful even more than that main game and they've got Witcher 3 style day and night and weather cycles built into it too so it changes around you. But there's not much in terms of companion interaction (although they do approve or disaprove of some of your side quest decisions) or cross-over with the main story and it is at least a tad over-priced. Ultimately it depends what your priorities are.

Jaws of Hårkon is a great DLC, and a must have adition to the game, in the same way that Warden's Keep and The Stone prisenor was a must have adition to DA:O. I would honestly almost claim it to be heresy to play DA:O without the Stone Prisoner, Shale is by far the best companion not just in that game but in all the games.
Regarding Jaws of Håkon it doesn't give us an awesome companion like Shale, but it does provide us with a very beautiful landscape to explore and high level enemies to challenge us.
In my ratings I put it above Warden's keep, but below Stone Prisoner and ad it to the list of must have DLC's, there is simply no point in buying the core games if thou don't buy these. Finally Dragon Age Awekening is also above Jaws but not the Stone Prisenor even though that was a regular expansion, something I hope we will also get in DA:I. Nothing is worth mentioning about DA2, in fact I don't even recommend buying it.-rphb- (talk) 12:51, July 18, 2015 (UTC)
I detest Shale. The only reason I do the DLC, is to get the gear. Shadizar666 (Ruck Rules) 04:16, July 19, 2015 (UTC)

Prepare to face the might of the Ice Giant which has almost 2 million health, was it me or was that thing harder to kill then Hakkon. Here's a tip for JoH bring fire damage and prepare frost resistant armour, the bosses love throwing ice around.--92.22.251.116 (talk) 11:42, July 29, 2015 (UTC)

You're off by a decimal. It has almost 200,00 HP. I found the fight to be tedious, but not hard. There's a cheap way to kill him - lure him over to the gurguts and let them fight it out. I think you still get XP so long as you do some damage to the Ice Giant first. Just make sure you don't taunt the gurguts, otherwise you'll have to fight them too.
Personally, I found the fight against Gurd Harofsen to be the hardest. Even my champion Inquisitor with 70% ice resistance and tier 3 sword with a superior demon slayer rune couldn't beat him on Nightmare. At least you can dodge most of Hakkon's attacks. Honestly the hardest thing about that fight is the gibbering horrors he summons, which can paralyze you and use some kind of weird breath attack to chew through guard and HP like tissue paper.
