I'm going to open this discussion up to a wider audience to see what others think. There are a handful of codex entries in Inquisition that are word-for-word identical to codex entries from Dragon Age II' and Dragon Age: Origins, but have different names. A couple examples are Codex entry: A Tale of the Frostbacks / Codex entry: The Frostback Mountains and [Codex entry: The Templar Order: Traditional Role] (not yet created) / Codex entry: Templars.

I can think of two different solutions:

  1. Add the Inquisition info (location, number, category) to the existing codex entry from the previous game and put a note at the bottom stating what the name of it is in Inquisition.
  2. Creating new articles for the new codex entries in Inquisition, which would basically mean we would have several codex entries that are identical.

I'm leaning towards the first option as I don't think there needs to be duplicate articles, but as User:Kewpies pointed out, there may be issues with people getting confused if they can't find the Inquisition name of the codex entry. A solution to that, though, would be creating redirect pages for these. --Kelcat Talk 22:10, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

Kelcat, thanks for posting this issue here. You explained it better than me :) And well, I do blame Bioware for this, as many other codex entries with identical text have the same name, thus not creating such problem. Kewpies (talk) 01:32, December 17, 2014 (UTC)
Really, you think BioWare would be a bit more considerate of us Icon wink. But I agree that redirects and notes/hatnotes are the best way to deal with this. Friendship smallLoleil Talk 19:56, December 17, 2014 (UTC)
Yes First choice. Na via lerno victoria 21:27, December 18, 2014 (UTC)
I may not be much of an editor here, but I definitely agree, the First Option is the way to go with good ol' redirects. King of Noobs 23:23, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

So right now I made Codex entry: A Tale of the Frostbacks into a redirect page and removed categories from it. And updated Codex entry: The Frostback Mountains. However, we now have a "false" page name in the codex entry category. How to handle this? Maybe the redirect page should be in the categories, because it's the one that has the correct name afterall. Seems that if I categorize that redirect as a Dragon Age: Inquisition codex entry, it shows up in the category italicized. [1]. Clicking on it does take you to the correct redirected page, though, so perhaps an exception to categorizing redirects can be made here? Not sure. --Kelcat Talk 00:37, December 21, 2014 (UTC)
