So i heard somewhere that you might be able to see your warden or Hawke again in the future games, but im wondering how theyre going to portray them in the future games, Like only reference them or actually show them dialoguing or you get to play them again (probably not), im just wondering what other people think. oh and anyone else gonna miss their warden/hawke? -_- --TheNightTwins (talk) 07:02, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

Getting a chance to play Hawke and Warden - even briefly - in DA3 might be fun. As long as it isn't in a context that hampers an open fate for them. Like - empress Celene is stuck in Jader. Perhaps Bodhan and Sandal are with her, and Bodhan happens to encounter the Warden while looking for someone to help the empress. The Warden runs a brief quest and gets to make a few choices that sets how the new PC's adventures in the Mage-Templar war / orlaisian civil war continues. With game-imports, that should maybe not be so difficult. More difficult to encounter them as NPC's or temporary companions, as the game might have to make up things about them that might be totally ooc for our particular W/H. Or our new PC might get to choose different dialogue-options that sets how it has gone for them, based on rumors: "I've heard a rumor that the Warden has gone to Par Vollen." - "I've heard the Warden has gone to his/her Calling." - I've heard the Warden is still Warden-Commander in Ferelden." etc. Pick Par Vollen, and that's where the Warden is. Pick Calling, and we never hear from the Warden again. Like in KOTOR2 when the Exile and Atton are discussing Revan.

I really hope they don't make an epilogue that sets Hawke's and Warden's fates, or decides too much about them. Or any comments or quests or the like in-game that says "Oh, the Hero of Ferelden has been killed when blahblahblah". Or that they set the game too far in the future (like, ten, twenty years ahead) that may "reveal" the warden's and Hawke's fates. I think we all have made up our own fates for them. --SylvanLore (talk) 08:17, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

It would suck if your warden died, I would totally cry though my warden was awesome...(to me) it also sucks to hear that in about 30 years your wardens gonna die cause of the taint.but they are suppose to play a sorta role in the war so maybe they won't put dragon age three that far in the future.--96.48.155.188 (talk) 08:52, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

Well I don't know about you, but MY Warden did experiments. Avernus's research, Architect's research... Plus, Larius from Legacy was just fine many years after his Calling. A lil lightheaded, but healthy and mindful. I don't think my Warden is going to his Calling any time soon. Unless Laidlaw press fast forward into another age. --Markurion (talk) 15:33, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

"You press a button, and SOMETHING AWESOME HAPPENS!" - Mike Laidlaw. I think that sums it up, be careful or it might happen. :P As for Warden, yeah, mine did the experiments too (at least with Avernus; he killed the Architect). EzzyD (talk) 15:43, July 14, 2012 (UTC)
Hahahahaha! :D Yes indeed, EzzyD. That pretty much sums it up. :)--Markurion (talk) 02:03, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

I would like both of them to come back, maybe have a brief play or their own little add-on where you can play them as you would have to rebuild them, well the warden's face anyway. I do, sometimes, when playing DA2 think of banter and other dialogue lines, if my warden(s) were following Hawke... --94.5.217.225 (talk) 18:16, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

If the Warden and Hawke do come back it would be tricky. First, Bioware would have to give the Warden a voice. Second, many people would complain if their Warden/Hawke did something out of character which means Bioware would have to find a way to personalize each character. Third, it would feel weird to see the character that you once were acting outside of your control. For those reasons it might be better if they didn't come back at all. User: Warrior Tabris

Another thing i just thought up is that whenever im playing as Hawke or whoever in the dlc, i think, If my warden was here _____, And i would be upset too if my warden died, Kailen Cousland and Kasley Mahariel (pardon my spelling) were some of my best wardens (played 6 times).Im gonna miss my warden alot...like alot alot T_T--TheNightTwins (talk) 07:03, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

It would be cool to see my Hawke or Warden in the next game, but I don't see that happening. Everyone's character is different, so it would get way to complicated and hard to do and would most likely end up a disaster. I would like to see, though, a few more mentions of the characters than there was in DA2, even if they were vague.--Nemesis1807 (talk) 21:29, July 15, 2012 (UTC)nemesis1807

I don't want to see them at all, their time in the spotlight has gone. I assume that if you want to see them again, just play the game they're in. 203.45.127.20 (talk) 00:42, July 17, 2012 (UTC)Darkside

I definitely do not want to see the Warden in DA3. I don't care what happens to Hawke. I like that in some scenarios we don't really know what happens to the Warden and s/he could be dead. I would prefer it if DA3 had it's own story and characters.--CouslandRogue (talk) 03:44, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

The only time they should appear is if they make another DA game for those two PC's. Then I would like to see them again, that's the only way to give them the justice they deserve and not a silly cameo. 203.45.127.20 (talk) 00:32, July 19, 2012 (UTC)Darkside

I heard when the two previous protagonists(the warden and hawke) are different genders we will see some sort of love with them too.. i just rode it somwhere on twitter. my Warden is male and my Hawke is female. that would be amazing if they are partners. and someone said both The Warden and Hawke will interfer the war and the DAIII Protagonist is able to meet them both.--MEVLUT COUSLAND (talk) 20 July 2012, 08:13 (UTC)

I just hope im not forced to kill either of them...hours spent playing them and building them into hero's...only to kill them so i can get their loot.... ;_;...--Shaerala (talk) 12:36, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

I just hope my Warden isn't dismissed with a throwaway line like "Oh, The Hero of Fereldan? He slipped in the bathtub and broke his neck years ago."Oso27us (talk) 18:13, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

I'd say let them both die, but let the new protagonist be present or part of it. Let the Warden be ambushed while preparing to hinder Flemeth (Witch Hunt). Let the new protagonist have a destined to fail rescue mission and witness Hawke's death by the opposite faction. That's what I have my fingers crossed for.````3:24pm 7/22/12 KCMueller

Sorry but I disagree. If I can't determine something so final for one of my characters then leave them be and don't show them again. In fact, I'd rather they weren't mentioned at all rather than somebody else deciding on the final fate of my character that I've poured hours into shaping and defining. That is one thing that would make me truly annoyed. To answer the OP's question, it's been stated we won't play as either character again. I'm fine with this, their stories (or at least the most significant part of them) are over. It's also been stated Hawke's story will be completed by BioWare "but not in a playable way". Again, no big issue personally, I don't have much attachment to my Hawkes, certainly in comparison to my Wardens. They may appear in cameos, but if they do (and that's a big "if") it wouldn't be prolonged or integral to the story. Also, it's unlikely that we'll actually see the Warden again due to tweaks to the engine and art style that would make their face unimportable, and they'd also have to be voiced which would inevitably upset a lot of fans. A cameo for Hawke would be much more likely however. Will they at least be mentioned again? almost certainly. Chantry symbol King Cousland | Talk   22:53, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

I see King Cousland's point to my above entry. I thought of the subject from a writer's perspective and not from a player's perspective. I might just have to wait and see how the DA3 writers incorporate/mention the Warden and Hawke before I form an opinion. 8:04pm 7/22/12 KCMueller

I have a few suggestions 1. You did make lots of choices in the previous games that could determine some character choices. Maybe the warden and hawk meet up with you in the final battle your choice on who they supported in previous games will decide whether they help you. Everyone would know which moment that is for Hawk and for the warden it would be the circle of Magi but not who you sided with but how you reacted to who you helped. For instance if you help the templars but say you wish you could have saved the mages you would get to decide who your Warden supports in DAIII. If you boast I killed the mages the choice is made for you. If you save the mages and hate the Templars same diff.
2. Hawks decision is made in DAII but the warden like does the same thing that the grey warden does in DAII claims that there is something bigger than the mage Templar war (It was clearly obviously to me because of DAII there is something huge going on).
Lastly and my favourite
3. You meet Hawk earlier in the game because of the Mage/Templar war (before you definitely choose which side your on) Depending on which choice you made in the end of DAII decides the persuasion of Hawk (if he needs to be persuaded to help mages or templars or not persuaded at all because you agree with him) His attitude would be decided by what option you chose the most on the speech wheel (If you chose the helpful or top option he generally wants to help people, If you choose the bottom or violent way he wants to just slice through problems, and depending on how many times you choose charm or joke option will decide how often he reflects on the humerus side of the situation) and if you go investigate a lot he will want to find out all that he can from some one before deciding what to do. This will give hawk the correct personality. After going on with the war something bigger will arise that the wardens have been trying to deal with and your warden will be there and you will have to join him to take down the bigger threat.--Agentsmit58 (talk) 12:53, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
