Okay so I'm almost done with my Origins playtrhough with my 2H city elf warrior and was wondering what my Dragon age II class should be, I usually prefer to go full on mage as that is more enjoyable...however I've decided that I want to side with the Templars.... and siding with the Templars as a mage is... well you get the idea. So that leaves warrior or rogue, my last playthrough I played a sword and broad warrior and hated it, but i hear 2h is much much better. I play on Casual (Xbox 360 so it's actually more casual than pc) and really just want to get rid of waves as fast as possible (PS, I don't use tact cam), but I also want to enjoy the class... I've never really given rogue much of a try (Neither DW or Bow), is it good for murdering trash packs? Can it survive well in solo encounters like the Arishok? Thanks.--82.20.90.47 (talk) 18:26, February 16, 2015 (UTC)

The rogues are pretty fun to play, although I'd go DW. When taking on the Arishok [or any boss] you need to flank, attack a time or three, run, and then do it again. Flanking gets a rogue to do the most damage. I say give it a try, if you don't like using a rogue after an hour or so, start over. BlueChaosFaerie (talk) 19:10, February 16, 2015 (UTC)

Between Rogue or warrior in DA2, definitely go rogue. Warrior in DA2 kind of sucks. After trying and hating both 2 handed and sword and board, I only ever went Rogue or Mage.--Liam Sionnach (talk) 19:26, February 16, 2015 (UTC)

IMHO the way classes play in DA2 are: Mage > Rogue > (ten pounds of crap) > Warrior. Once that is said dual wield rogues are veeeeeeeeeeeeery squishy in DA2... in DA:I they do last longer.--DaveManiac3 20:07, February 16, 2015 (UTC)

The OP said they were playing the Xbox 360 version on casual, I also played the 360 version in a similar manner (sorry I'm so casual) and I'd say they should go DW rouge. I've found them to be fairly easy to murder groups quickly, and aside from the mage there 're the easiest to handle. Plus no Carver in that class which is always a positive for me ;) John the Manic (talk) 21:49, February 16, 2015 (UTC)

I'd also go with a DW rogue. I have the PS3 version and also play on casual. Squishiness isn't as much of a problem with good dexterity and certain skills that makes evading easier/more likely. What party members you have with you can help with that too. My usual party in DA2, especially with a DW rogue Hawke, is Aveline, Anders and Varric. Though if I sided with the Templars (which I only did once), I'd likely take Aveline, Fenris and Sebastian instead. 2H warrior in DA2 is better than it was in DAO (if for nothing else, the attack speed increase) but I still prefer DW rogue. You also have the bonus of rogues being the only damn class that can get past locks. I never had much trouble with the Arishok with any class. Never really had much problem with most enemies outside of Legacy. Genlocks Alphas (the ones with the giant shields) were worse than most bosses and Corypheus gave me more trouble than anything else. Took forever to beat that bastard. Vampire Damian (talk) 01:18, February 19, 2015 (UTC)

I've always played as a warrior in DA2, but I was never really impressed. My husband is playing it now as a Rogue and I'm amazed at the build he's got going. I'm rather jealous. Heidirs (talk) 20:58, February 20, 2015 (UTC)

Hmm so it seems DW rogue over 2h war, what about bow rogue? Is that good?--82.20.90.47 (talk) 22:52, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

I tried using the bow a few times but I never really cared for it, especially at lower levels. Vampire Damian (talk) 23:05, February 22, 2015 (UTC)
