I've been with them since it soft launched, followed its progress, and visited their forums occasionally. I can confidently say I both enjoy the game and recommend Dragon Age fans pick it up. They're still adding improvements as they get feedback, but as of the last update just before it did it's world-wide launch they enabled the player to take on challenges (that could be repeated) that if you won you had the chance to earn a new hero. This made it so you didnt just have to earn coins thru PVP matches to buy a booster you could complete a challenge and earn a hero and some minor money to then later (also) buy a booster. It has it's flaws, theres a bit of a difficulty curve when doing the "story quests" some players have expressed feeling as if they've hit a brick wall, but the devs have addressed they're aware of the issues and may eventually have a fix for it. All in all it is a TCG on a mobile device with a dragon age skin. I'd say its worth checking out. Warden Mage: Ferris (talk) 17:47, December 9, 2013 (UTC)
I've had problems installing it. Thrice it got to 100% but no install. I tried again today and it installed finally. I put it on. I got bored of the fricken tutorial. For about five minutes all you do is tap the screen. I mean, really. No way to get into menu to start again, no way to reload if you missed one screen. Just tap tap tap and watch three dudes and a dudette fight. That is not how you make tutorials.
I'm enjoying it so far, but it suffers from the same problems every freemium game suffers from: Give us a crapton of money, or you'll be stuck with horrible units.--Lurooke Surana (talk) 17:30, December 11, 2013 (UTC)
- The devs have addressed the difficulty curve and plan on fixing it within hte next update, but with the Challenge nodes they put in, you can grind those and get better units. I've gotten tons of rares(enough to fully upgrade circle bethany, desire demon, and senior enchanter) and even an epic level fig. It's not a game to be played in a week and be done with it, they want you to be in it for the long haul. Warden Mage: Ferris (talk) 18:36, December 11, 2013 (UTC)
Been playing it the past couple of days, and it is really addictive. Now, I have to admit the randomness of the packs is especially annoying (I don't want to get a rare in the Champion Pack) and to be honest, I think they've possibly way too many characters at launch, meaning you're getting so many that it can be difficult to tier a character unless you are doing some hardcore grinding or paying for loads of Champion packs. But to be fair, I'm liking the game, especially as I have a team consisting of Duncan, Warden Carver, a fully Tiered Grey Warden Rogue and a Tier 3 Grey Warden Mage backed up by an armoured Ogre Commander, they are tearing through most other teams. Ultimately, it still needs a bit of work, but so far, its shaping up to be a good game. --Madasamadthing (talk) 22:57, December 11, 2013 (UTC)
- I'm super jealous you got Duncan! my team is also all warden, Warden Beathany, Warden Carver, Warden Alistair, and a Warden Mage using the Gate guardian as a big guy. The Ferelden Challenge has a rare chance to drop warden carver, so just a heads up if you're looking to combine, I managed to get mine to at least 2. - Oh yeah, I spammed the hell out of the Carta Challenge to level up the Grey Warden Rogue. As for the Ferelden Challenge, I think its Templar Carver that's the rare drop. Actually, the first Epic I got at the start was Orsino. If you have him and a Grey Warden Mage you can do some serious damage to a team, especially if the Grey Warden Mage does a stunlock on the other team. --Madasamadthing (talk) 17:16, December 12, 2013 (UTC)
Definitely enjoying it. It's certainly addictive, both collecting cool characters and seeing them work together but also the combat. Though I definitely hope they adjust the difficulty curve, as it is quite like a brick wall once you get to a point, and I'm a little disappointed at the lack of control over the characters. But so far I'm quite enjoying the challenge of thrashing my way through with a mage team consisting of Yavana, Orsino and Fiona backed up by an Armoured Ogre and a tier three Abomination. Also, I got a Nug... cute. SenjiBen (talk) 04:22, December 12, 2013 (UTC)
Currently levelling up Flemeth, Orsino, Yavana and Anders. Seriously, the mages in HoDA seem to be ridiculously overpowered. I can go up against teams with hard-hitting warriors and archdemons with no problem, but more than two mages in a team and I start sweating bullets. Well if you can't beat them, join them. --Madasamadthing (talk) 22:05, December 13, 2013 (UTC)
