I've played a human mage and as the reward for killing the ArchDemon, I picked freeing the mages from the Chantry. After importing my game to Awakening, then to Witch Hunt, I've noticed that the Templars are still around, still capture the mages, so I thought that my "reward" was worthless. In DA2, when Alistair shows up, he has his conversation with Meredith, then leaves.

Hoever, then I read that if the Warden chose to free the mages, then Meredith would argue with Alistair about it.

Thinking that I must have maybe imported the save incorrectly, I created a new mage character, finished DAO again, making the same choices (I want a perfect save for when DA3 comes) and the situation happened AGAIN! No mention of the mages being free in Ferelden. Am I doing something wrong???? I'm playing the XBox 360 version.

As you can read here it is unfortunately bugged if King Alistair gives it. http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Epilogue_(Origins) Also the Chantry says no, and unfortunately much like in the real world in the middle age the church is more powerful than a king.--Navarion (talk) 14:10, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
