When we talk about the "CoT Website" we now refer to the fansite as a whole. The site includes: a blog, a fanforum, fanfiction, and an RPG - Revolutions. In the future we shall launch the final piece of the website- the fanzine.

You can find the main website - its landing page - at http://chroniclesofthedas.com

The CoT Blog[]

The Blog is where the site runners make announcements about all parts of the project as well as write -about- various things connected to the project. They are tagged and categorised accordingly so please check out the blogs footer to see the tag cloud, the categories and other helpful navigation tools.

You can find the blog at: http://chroniclesofthedas.com/index/blog/

The CoT Fanforum[]

The Forum - aka the "fanforum" - is the part of the site where users can register (or log in with a current wordpress account) and geek out about Dragon Age. Talk about any part of the franchise, from the Games to the Comics or Books or youtube series. Whatever Bioware has made, or fans have made, discuss it and geek out about it. There is also an RP section where you can RP anything, not just Dragon Age stuff.

You can find the fanforum at: http://chroniclesofthedas.com/index/forums/

The CoT Fanfiction site: Tales of Thedas[]

The Fanfiction site uses the efiction software and is a site dedicated to Dragon Age fanfiction ONLY. Anything of any rating can be posted there but guests and some members can only read age appropriate rated fiction. We do allow mature content but it is behind various filters. We are very excited to be able to give DA fans somewhere just for their fanfiction, with no limits on what they can post (as long as it is legal!).

You can find the fanfiction site at: http://chroniclesofthedas.com/fanfiction/

Revolutions: A play by post Dragon Age forum[]

Top

Revolutions: A Dragon Age play by post RPG.

The RPG Forums are the oldest part of the project and are hosted by IPS. The Revolutions RPG is in three parts - the forums, the wiki and the guidebook. The latter is the newest addition and forms a trilogy of Revolution pieces that make up the game as a while. The guidebook hosts a knowledge-base where our information and guides on the game reside. The wiki is our lore domain. Both the guidebook and the wiki offer superior presentation and searchability giving the RPers of Revolutions the smoothest and most informative experience. The forums themselves run on modern software and are organised for ease of navigation and functionality. We focus on RPing on the forums, and it was built for RPers, by RPers.

You can find Revolutions at: http://revolutions.chroniclesofthedas.com/

Plot Summary[]

It is 9:52 in the Age of the Dragon and Thedas is taking a deep breath before the storm. War is on the horizon once more and the rebel mage faction - the Hand of Justice - stirs. The Swords of the Maker are close to breaking the terms of the peace treaty by moving against the Libertarian Circles; meanwhile, darkness dwells in the Deep Roads of Thedas and all the world can do is play the Great Game.

Thedas stands on the precipice. Will you pull it back from the brink or push it into the Abyss?

About the game[]

Revolutions is an active, friendly, highly creative Dragon Age board that welcomes new players and new ideas!
  • The over-arching plot is the mage-templar war
  • We are a mature rating, so unleash your imagination!
  • We are AU, so diverge slightly from the canon events but maintain the spirit of Dragon Age, whilst not replaying the existing storylines.
  • We welcome player content and plots!
  • Original lore and factions!
  • Highly active plots!
  • Friendly and helpful staffers and an active and creative admin.
  • Movement of plot and freedom within the setting.
  • A fantastic, friendly, active and fun community is waiting for you!
  • The creator of REvolutions has been tweeted by devs, including the former dev David Gaider, and our other staffers have tweeted to from the official DA twitter account. They promised us nug art and delivered!

What is play by post RPing?[]

Role Play is where you create a scene, choose characters (or "roles"), then act them (or "play" them) out. It's just that: Role - Play. And just for reference, if people ever talk about "RP" or "RPG", they're just talking about Role Playing, or Role Playing Games. In the context of forum RPing for Dragon Age you create a unique character (based in Thedas), develop them in the world of Dragon Age, and exercise your writing skills.

A huge part of role playing is interaction. It just isn't possible to join a group and not interact with anyone else in any way. There are PM's, instant messages, you name it. Of course, let's not forget the actual Role Playing! Your character will meet and interact with the other characters in your group or society, and will consequentially learn from those encounters. That is, if you're a good writer, and can realize that a lesson was (or should have been) learned, and can develop your character accordingly.

We are happy to have people new to RPing as well as those familiar with it! Come to the forum for help and we will have you writing in the Dragon Age setting with us in no time!

All that is left now is this:

War is coming to Thedas, which side will you choose?

Discussion about the setting and other questions[]

Hey, I was checking the forums out, and while I find the idea interesting, I'm a little confused as to where and how exactly I submit my character application.--Lurooke Surana (talk) 21:16, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

The forums main page is designed to look like the average website - the drop down menus at the top of the page are the best way to navigate. The ENTER drop down is useful for those new to forum RP and those getting started on the game. Simply put though, go to the "Waiting Room" forum (on the main page), where you will find the character application template; then start a new topic in the "Waiting Room" and post your completed application there. If it is something you wish to work on over time post it in the "WIP" forum.

Does this website also welcome players who just want to have a general chit chat about Dragon age? I've been searching for a Dragon age forum for a while. I'm kind of nervous of participating at the official Bioware because I heard some horror stories about people getting banned and having conflicts with playing the game. --LordRaijin (talk) 21:30, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Totally! Chronicles of Thedas is a fansite as well as it is a roleplaying forum. You are welcome to create an OOC (out of character account) and join the chatting regarding all things dragon age.

Then I'm off to create an account over there :) Thank you. --LordRaijin (talk) 22:02, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

As well as roleplaying it is a writing community in general, so fanfics, short stories, flashfics, anything dragon age related can be uploaded there. :D We also have a g+ page, pintrest: [1], twitter and our tumblr: [2] 94.168.50.250 (talk) 14:07, June 27, 2013 (UTC) CoT Moderator

UPDATE: We may be including Inquisitors as a faction, but will wait until DA:I is released. However, there will be a Qunari based plot in 2014. :D

The original advert was updated - added the fact that Gaider tweeted to our creator and the DA twitter gave us nug art.

I'm thinking of joining your RP because I really love Rping in Thedas and there are so few sites out there. Like everyone else I'm really psyched with DA:I coming out this year and want to snuggle into a good Rp site before its released, but I gotta know Will you guys be taking anything from the new game into account with plots or with released lore or anything like that? Collodipuppet (talk) 21:40, July 2, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, we will be using lore from the new game. Since previously published custom lore was later confirmed in bioware content we are confident that we are in sync enough to assimilate new lore. It has been done with all products since Asunder. Our plot diverges from Bioware's, hence us being alt universe, however we will be having Inquisitors and will certainly have the Inquisition and/or it's plot as a timeline past event. It is possible that the events of Inquisition are yet to happen in our timeline ;)

54.217.98.246 (talk) 04:19, July 3, 2014 (UTC) CoT admin.

Actually, I think CoT lore team is already placing certain aspects of lore published recently that can be easily linked to DA:I lore when the game is released. I have seen it couple time, and I'm sure if someone goes and check the Avvar lore for instance they will figure the link out ;) And it's really feels good when I see the team publish such lore and gets confirmed later, gives an image about how much these guys are devoted to the game and have been always "seeing it coming". Very entertaining and fun to play :D Elnawawi (talk) 19:54, July 15, 2014 (UTC)

Will new characters from the Dragon Age: Inquisition be making an appearance in some way in Chronicles of Thedas ? Collodipuppet (talk) 22:56, July 15, 2014 (UTC)

Technically, no. A member cannot apply for a canon and the canons from Inquisition have either been replaced by the time it is 950 OR we have others in their stead, these are the CoT "Canons". They ascended to these positions instead of those we know and love, since this is an alternate timeline. Those of you who are fans of Doctor Who, think of CoT as a parallel universe, some of the events in Asunder onwards simply did not happen for one reason or another. Some people were not born or took a different path. This is Thedas, but this is not Bioware's story anymore. It is YOUR story. :D Bioware love fanfics and fanarts, so let's celebrate our diversity and be creative in Thedas, hm?
For the record, I love the canons but prefer leaving them to Gaider and co to write. ^^ HOWEVER, Alistair and Avernus do make cameo's at CoT. ;) 82.36.190.215 (talk) 23:09, July 15, 2014 (UTC) CoT Admin
That's interesting, but leads me to a question. What about the divine? Is she the same one from Bioware stories or have died/replaced? What if Bioware killed her within the events of DA:I and the events of the inquisition start to occur in the timeline CoT is at now? Do you have a plan to put the events that will come with the new game into use - to a degree, or it's only the lore you using? Elnawawi (talk) 15:20, July 16, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, it's still Justinia! Same Divine. If she was killed in DA:I then she wouldn't die on the site, most likely, since the position's a bit too canon for anyone to actively play anyway. Unless, of course, the Admins thought it could be integrated in without hurting our own plots. We are AU, and getting increasingly so as we move through games. I can't predict what the staff will integrate from DA:I into CoT, and neither can they, most likely, until the game's actually out! Andypants01 (talk) 21:56, July 20, 2014 (UTC)Andy

Andy is absolutely right. We can't predict what we will include entirely, though we already have a spec (which was added by a member) that is similar to the one Vivienne specialises in, so some things will get reviewed and possibly rebooted as long as it does not affect our "canon". 90.206.243.220 (talk) 13:52, August 6, 2014 (UTC) CoT Admin

Two of our core members have beta keys to Dragon Age Keep. Come and ask them questions if you want. :D - 2.126.112.211 (talk) 20:07, October 14, 2014 (UTC) CoT Staff

We are in the midst of updating our Wiki with Inquisition lore. What do you think should be the main lore to include. ClaireBField (talk) 13:59, May 12, 2016 (UTC)
