So after reading through AusGamers Dragon Age: Inquisition Developer Interview with BioWare's Cameron Lee , I learned some new stuff, like apparently some of the romance options will notably not be player sexual and restricted to one orientation, and that the explosion at the beginning of the game that you, and you alone, survive takes place at the old ruins of the Temple of the Sacred Ashes, during a peace-talk attempt by the "head of the chantry and head of the mage faction", so maybe the Divine and Fiona? I dunno. Anyways, some good info here. Discuss! 67.61.234.198 (talk) 15:00, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hhehehe. I just realized. There was an explosion. At the temple with the urn of sacred ashes. The opening narration of the first trailer was "faith lies in ashes". The explosion wherein the Divine was possibly killed and or the chantry thrown into chaos. The urn of sacred ashes also probably caught in the explosion. It works on so many levels. 120.149.113.197(talk)

So if you destroyed those Ashes in your primary playthrough all the symbolism is pointless?CLuhrsen (talk) 22:02, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

When I heard "Faith lies in Ashes" I interpretated it like there is no hope or that the church is destroyed.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 15:19, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Given the suggestion that the Warden and/or Hawke might be making an appearance (I can't remember how confirmed it is at the moment, but I remember it being spoken of vaguely at PAX) I wonder if the Chantry/Mage peace summit will be where we see them for the last time. It seems conceivable to me that these notable Theodsians would be present for this, particularly Hawke given his previous involvement. It would also bring their chapters, perhaps a bit harshly, to a definitive close. Dunno, interesting to think about. :D--Suddenshift (talk) 03:14, April 24, 2014 (UTC)

Wow that's pretty hefty info you should have posted it as news on the wikia.Lazare326 (talk) 15:19, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

"AusGamers: Game of Thrones has thrust the politics of fantasy worlds into the forefront of how people think about them, and the Player Character in Inquisition is the leader of a fairly political faction. Will politics play a large role in the game?

Cameron: Yes it does. There are a couple of different facets from that. There is one plot in particular which is very much a political plot, it's very much backroom deals and court intrigue and how you influence people based on your reputation. Sort of what can you pull off and at what cost to other people? There's a whole plot dedicated to that kind of experience, and it's bloody as well. Like Game of Thrones, I guess, is definitely a bloody type of politics--it's similar with us. Dragon Age has always had the blood and gore and the dark concept of politics and this plot is a great representation of that." - THIS MAKES ME HAPPY. Lazare326 (talk) 15:25, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

In Witcher 2 politics were shown in the darkest way I've seen, there it was hard to figure out who is darker. I haven't seen Game of Thrones yet to comment politicians there, but I am sure about the witcher 2. In DAI it would be enjoyable to play a treacherous politic, who backstabs own allies when no longer needs them to take over their riches or lands and to become the dominant ruler of a hegemony.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 15:32, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
Game of Thrones (ASOIF) Politics are way dirtier and darker than even Witcher. It's some of the most horrific, cunning and masterful system in fantasy. Lazare326 (talk) 16:01, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
^This. I played the DA games first, then the Witcher, and then watched GoT. So I was like: "Wow, this game is kinda dark." "Okay, this game is really dark." "...I think I have PTSD from watching this show..." Seriously, Dragon Age can never compete with GoT in terms of visceral, emotional, soul-piercing darkness. And if it tried, the game would be rated AO and get banned in every country. At most, DA is a shade of medium grey. Silver Warden (talk) 16:30, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
The game wouldn't even get the green light from EA. GoT has incests, rapes, , hard torture,, cannibalism, and many more of things. But at the end of the day, it's story is so brilliant. It can't be matched by a separate fantasy series which aims to derive influence from it. Lazare326 (talk) 16:40, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
Just a suggestion, but you might want to remove two of those examples as they're a bit spoilerish. I'd say which two but that would be a bigger spoiler, so... Silver Warden (talk) 19:04, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
Removed! Right ones right? Lazare326 (talk) 19:38, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
Yep. Silver Warden (talk) 19:51, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
WELLL BRIENNE OF TARTH IS DOING SOME VO in DAI!! Well Gwen to be accurate but still. Female inquisitor? Or Qunari one? Lazare326 (talk) 01:03, April 24, 2014 (UTC)
Could be any female character other than already known ones (like Cassandra & Leliana). It's a good sign though, as movie or TV actors often make good voice actors. (See Patrick Stewart, Martin Sheen, & Claudia Black.) Silver Warden (talk) 02:25, April 24, 2014 (UTC)
For live-action actors in voice acting, I much prefer TV people over feature film people. The latter often demand a hefty price tag for comparatively much less work (TV actors don't conduct themselves as too "above" standing in a booth and reading lines), put in less effort if any, and are mostly added just to inject "star power" for the marketing teams. I'm pretty sure Bethesda blew their whole VO budget hiring Stewart for the opening act of Oblivion. RShepard227 (talk) 04:24, April 24, 2014 (UTC)
THE KING IN THE NORTH!!! I'm not surprised at the inclusion of political intrigue, there are heavy references to A Song of Ice and Fire in the Dragon Age franchise, if not entirely Easter eggs. The Couslands are the spitting image of the Starks, the Wardens are the Night's Watch, the dragons show up (and there's three of them), and there's a blond family of the dragon lineage that is the rightful owner of the throne. Although that last point is debatable. Blood magic is a horrific way to get everything you want, I should mention that. I think that's it. RShepard227 (talk) 04:20, April 24, 2014 (UTC)
There's a thread on this anyways XD. Daenerys reminds me of andraste, as in both free slaves and everything and are a growing threat from a far point. Also the Couslands are most def spitting images of Starks. They've admitted that ASOIF is preferably the biggest influence. At a point Laidlaw said he wanted it to be the HBO of games. The Kings guard remind me of the Chevaliers. And the Qunari remind me of the Dothraki. But thats vague. There's so many more. Like in the masked empire there's a women called Melisandrae. You can guess where the influence came for that Lazare326 (talk) 10:44, April 24, 2014 (UTC)

@Lazare: And take away your thunder? Never. :P Seriously though, I don't have an account, am too lazy to make one, and don't know how. So I'll let one of you gents handle that. ;) 67.61.234.198 (talk) 15:57, April 23, 2014 (UTC)
