Dosadnik 1, an admin at The Old Republic wiki has asked to join the list of wikis affiliated with this one. The program consists of a link on the affiliate component, and an occasional cross news post.

The majority opinion ([1], [2], [3], [4]) among the administrators is that we have sufficient cross interest to add The Old Republic wiki as an affiliate.

However, there are concerns moving forward that we want to keep the amount of non-Dragon Age images to a minimum and as such, a proposal was raised that we cap it at 3 affiliates. Another suggestion is to shrink the images as the number of affiliates grow. These are things that we will address if we continue to add more affiliates.

For the time being, leave your thoughts below. -- tierrie talk contr 22:33, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

I find myself in a position of not fully grasping the whole concept of "affiliated wiki". Would anyone be so kind to explain it in detail?:) -Algol- (talk) 23:17, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

I just assume that we put their name on our wiki to show how coolbros we are with them. I don't mind an increased number of affiliates, as long as we're not just gobbling them up willy-nilly. Rathian Warrior (talk) 23:36, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

Essentially. The thinking is that it shows a "friendship" between two wikis and increases traffic on the sites. Our current policy on affiliation (I believe) is that we should strive to share similarities with the wiki be that genre, publisher etc. Chantry symbol King Cousland | Talk   23:45, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
Share similarities with the genre and publisher? Wouldn't be affiliating with, say, NWN/NWN2 wikis much more logical then?-Algol- (talk) 00:55, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

I won't mind, since we're already affiliated with Assassin's Creed wiki (that doesn't make much sense to me, though). It might increase website traffic, as that was how I came to participate here in the first place. -Gabriellesig 10:41, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

I'll repeat what I said on my talk page: I'm indifferent regarding the affiliation with SWTOR. The concern that our main page becomes a link directory is something that I share however. I suppose capping affiliates to 3 might be too harsh, so I agree with the alternate suggestion to simply make the logos smaller until we think we have enough links. ··· D-day sig d·day! 03:39, July 28, 2012 (UTC)
