Shawl of Dalesdottir is an Act 1 side quest in Dragon Age II. Mais Dalesdottir has lost her old shawl, which is embroided with a family name, a Tevinter symbol for femininity and the crest of the Blooming Rose.

Chest in The Hanged Man
The quest begins when Hawke finds the shawl at The Hanged Man in Lowtown during the day. It can be found inside a chest, located upstairs near Varric's home base (in the second room on the right).
Walkthrough[]
Hawke needs to return the item to its owner, who will be at The Blooming Rose in the Red Lantern District of Hightown. Inside, go straight forward to the main hall and then turn right, walk past the bar counter to the next room and Mais Dalesdottir will be standing there. Talk to her to end the quest.
