Potions tarot

Potions tarot card

Potions are the lifeblood of a protracted fight. They can heal instantly or over a period of time. Potions can resist powerful elemental attacks and keep the enemy off balance with debilitating effects. The three types of potions in Dragon Age: Inquisition include potions, tonics, and grenades.

Tonics and grenades appear under the potion list as they are all managed the same way in-game, with the Equip Potions and Upgrade Potions tables.

The Equip Potions station is used to add a potion to the potion belt. The Upgrade Potions station can be used to upgrade the potions and improve their effectiveness. There are several upgrade options available for each potion; each upgrade costs a variation and/or combination of herbs. Fully upgrading a potion will slightly increase the cost to craft it.

The Inquisitor and their companions have a passive potion belt that allows two different types of potions to be carried at any one time; the first slot is always reserved for healing potions. However, with the addition of the Tempered Glass Flasks Inquisition perk nested under the Inquisition category, this will allow for the potion belt to unlock an additional slot.

Belts[]

Since each party member has either two potion slots available, or potentially three with the addition of the Tempered Glass Flasks Inquisition perk, equipping a belt can enhance the wearer with additional capacity for carrying potions, tonics or grenades.

Each party member will always carry 8 healing potions along with one the following (or two with the aforementioned perk): 5 potions, 4 tonics or 3 grenades. However, with the addition of the More Healing Potions Inquisition perk four additional healing potions can be equipped raising the total to 12. Thus equipping a belt as an accessory the capacity of potions, tonics or grenades will also increase accordingly based on the belt equipped; these include:

Capacity +1 Capacity +2 Capacity +3 Capacity +4
Potions Belt Potions Belt Enhanced Potions Belt Enhanced Potions Belt Superior Potions Belt Superior Potions Belt n/a
Tonics Belt Tonics Belt Enhanced Tonics Belt Enhanced Tonics Belt Superior Tonics Belt Superior Tonics Belt Master Belt of Tonics Master Belt of Tonics
Grenades Belt Grenades Belt Enhanced Grenades Belt Enhanced Grenades Belt Superior Grenades Belt Superior Grenades Belt Master Belt of Grenades Master Belt of Grenades

Notes[]

  • Potion belts only affect the capacity of non-healing potions. Tonic and grenade belts affect all tonics or grenades respectively.
