This shield can only be acquired by creating a new warrior character in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening and it is given as a starting item to the character, or by importing a character of a lower level from Dragon Age: Origins without any equipped weapons but has invested sufficient points in the Weapon and Shield talent tree.
