The Ruins of Heidrun Thaig are all that remain of the once proud Heidrun Thaig. It is located beneath a section of the Deep Roads known as the Darkspawn Warrens.
Background[]
The thaig was built before the First Blight and it served as an important lyrium mining source for the dwarves.[1] It was dedicated to Paragon Heidrun the Deep whose remains are entombed under a massive stone statue located at the center of the thaig.[2] It is also known that in ancient times an "incident" involving "creatures that wear the faces of the dead" disturbed the mining operations and warranted direct military intervention by the king himself.[1]
Centuries later, members of the Legion of the Dead would often visit the ruins. Once they encountered a rock wraith in an old mine shaft near the thaig.[3] Another time they found the former prison of an Archdemon below Heidrun Thaig, filled with the corpses of darkspawn who had died while praying to their god.[4]

- Throughout the thaig and in nearby Deep Roads locations, the Inquisitor can find gears made from a metal that Shaper Valta cannnot recognize.
- A level 25 Nug has been spotted near the Gate of Segrummar closest to the Legion Of The Dead Camp, killing it yields roughly 300 XP, a Dwarven Dragon Statuette (varies) and 3500 gold.[confirmation needed]
- Five supply caches can be found throughout Ruins of Heidrun Thaig.
- The lower bridge operation unlocks the southernmost bridge, located near the camp. The central bridge operation unlocks the bridge near the monument. On the map, both are only listed as "Completed Operations" without any distinguishing annotation. The Deep Roads Expeditions: Heidrun Thaig Upper Bridge operation, despite the name, creates a bridge next to the fast travel marker in the Darkspawn Warrens.
- If the Inquisitor goes down the right hand fork of the bridges from the Upper Bridge construction and takes a left at the end, they can enter a house which has a wheel of cheese on a table. Taking this starts an unmarked quest to meet the Nug King in the Forgotten Caverns.
