Dual-Weapon Sweep is a rogue and warrior talent from the Dual-Weapon Sweep tree in Dragon Age: Origins.

Information[]

  • The character sweeps both weapons in a 180 degree 2.6 m self-centered cone, striking nearby enemies with one or both weapons and inflicting 50% more damage than normal.
  • If the target is within the center 100 degrees of the cone, it is hit with both weapons; otherwise with a single weapon.
  • The attack result is always a standard combat hit - it cannot miss, but no critical hit is possible either.
  • Conjuration time: 1s.
  • 80 additional threat is supposed to be drawn from the target. As of Patch 1.02, only damage-based threat is drawn. Fixed with this unofficial patch.

Notes[]

  • The Warden will start with this talent for free as a warrior of City Elf, or Dwarf Commoner origin.
  • Activation base is in stamina and values vary with fatigue%.
  • According to the code in talent_aoe_instant.nss, this talent generates an auto-hit. However, in reality, it sometimes occurs that the game engine would not recognize a target clearly standing inside the AoE, and so the talent will miss. These pseudo-misses are not caused by target's defense rating or dodge chance; they tend to happen whenever there are slight terrain height differences between the character and the target. Such problematic locations are nearly impossible to foresee, but they are consistent and can be avoided (i. e., if you didn't hit your target from a certain position, relocate and retry, instead of trying again from exactly the same location).
    • According to a modder, the target is occasionally missed when standing direct in front of the dual wielder. He made a fix available.
