The codex is a collection of information the player can find throughout the Dragon Age game series. Codex entries give information about the world of Thedas, including stories of historians and scholars, about the mechanics of the game and certain creatures, characters and items. Some entries will differ depending on the player's character: a Dalish Warden will find codex entries on their culture by other Dalish elves, while other Wardens would instead read ones written by a human. In addition, a character's codex entry will be updated depending on the player's actions during the campaign.
