Background
Edit
Previously known as Fortress Haine, the current vacation villa of the Orlesian Montfort Family was first built by Lord Norbert de la Haine. It is located in the Free Marches on the western slopes of the Vimmark Mountains. It was used as a stronghold by the Grey Wardens during the Fourth Blight, with the Vaults, a cavern and lake constructed underneath the mountain to house thousands of refugees.
The abundance of wild wyvern in the area led to the Montforts sponsoring seasonal hunting parties to reduce their population, but eventually became a sporting event.

Trivia
Edit
- In French, "Chateau Haine" literally means "Castle Hatred".
- Arlessa Isolde will only show up at the castle if the player have imported a Dragon Age Origins save where she did not die.
- If Hawke speaks to Bann Teagan he advises Hawke not to bring up the Chantry or "knickers" in front of Perrin. This is a reference to the quest Defeat Bann Perrin's Guards in Leliana's Song.
