- For the armor set in Dragon Age: Origins, see Blood Dragon armor set (Origins).
The Blood Dragon armor set is obtained with the Blood Dragon Armor downloadable content. To unlock it, you must have the Blood Dragon armor set in Dragon Age: Origins or Mass Effect 2. The set appearance is nearly identical (although graphically "improved") to the one in Origins. Due to the relatively low strength and constitution requirements it can be used early in the game. It is, however, considerably less powerful than in Origins. Unlike the Origins set, it does not confer any item set bonuses when all pieces are equipped, except when worn by a mage.
Background[]
Commissioned by an infamous Nevarran dragon hunter, this armor was crafted in a time when dragons had almost been hunted to extinction. Infused with the beasts' blood, the armor gained notoriety after the hunter died at the hands of men rather than the dragons it was designed to protect him from.
—From Codex entry: Blood Dragon ArmorDetails[]
Despite having Strength and Constitution requirements, this armor set only confers a bonus when the complete set is worn by a mage. Like Spiral Eye armor set, it adds +1 magic and +20 mana.
