- “There are times when stealth and discretion are more valuable than numbers.”
He is first encountered during the meeting with Divine Beatrix III at the Grand Cathedral in Val Royeaux, where he presents his report on the Seekers' attack on Frenic's blood mage cult and the rescue of Avexis. Despite First Enchanter Edmonde's request he refuses to return Avexis to the Circle of Magi, believing her to be the key to understanding the blood mage's ritual. After Cassandra and Avexis' disappearance, Knight-Commander Martel and the Templar Order are dispatched to investigate despite Aldren's protestations. Assuming that Cassandra had good reason for her actions and would eventually report to him to explain herself, Aldren elected to wait. When Cassandra and Regalyan D'Marcall returned and presented him with the elven sending stone containing the transcripts of Knight-Commander Martel's conversations with Frenic, he agreed to present their claims to the Divine. However Martel murdered him before he had the chance to arrange a meeting.
- His name is never revealed in Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker. Instead, he is referred to by his rank.
