Alarith is the only merchant in the Denerim Alienage.

Background Edit

He is a former slave of the Tevinter Imperium who escaped with his family and fled to Ferelden. On the way his family was killed. Alarith himself was almost killed when Dalish elves scoured the caravan for loot, but was spared as a fellow elf. Surprisingly, for a former slave, Alarith is neither particularly bitter nor self-pitying, and touts the Alienage as "everything that is worth fighting for" to a Tabris Warden during the origin.

Involvement Edit

During the City Elf Origin he will offer advice to the Warden if they visit him in his shop. During the Unrest in the Alienage quest, he will update the Warden on the present situation of the Alienage.

Unless the Warden is an elf, he will not trade goods until after Unrest in the Alienage quest is completed and the elves are saved. If Caladrius took them with him, or used them in the Blood Ritual, his shop will remain permanently closed.

Considering that Alarith recommends the Warden to quietly make the transactions with him, it shows that his business or the wares he is selling or buying back, are illegal.
