  13. Put me down as an Isolde hater. That voice and her attitude just grates on my nerves so much. Doesn't help when she insults my Human Noble(s) "Who is this man Teagan?". If she got possessed by a demon, I'd feel sorry for the poor demon.--Madasamadthing 18:52, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

  23. As if her voice wasn't bad enough to make me want to stab her in the face and set her on fire, her actions were what put the Arl in danger in the first place, but she insists on blaming anyone BUT herself for all the woes that came about. It's not the French accent (I don't mind those) it's HER voice. Whiny. --Fadebird 07:48, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
  24. Thanks to the posts about how to keep Alistair from hating you for killing Isolde, I took great pleasure in letting Jowan turn her into goo this play-through! Ozena
  25. As much as I dislike Jowan's bumbling idiocy, I allow him to live just so Isolde, the Arlessa of Bath, can get a small amount of the retribution she deserves. Does anyone else turn off the sound when dealing with her as well? Dominoris 14:53, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

  31. I hate her! I turn the sound off whenever she is on screen. I didn't like her to start off with from how she treated Alistair, and hated her for her lack of concern for anyone else and lying about the situation. Actually I think the best punishment is for both her and Conner to live and him to be taken away from her (oddly at about the same age that Alistair was when she sent him to the Chantry...hmmm) some poetic justice. Want to bitchslap her so bad when she goes "Who is this woman, Teagan?" Makes me think less of the Arl that he married her. Lady Kathlyn

Isolde's Inhuman Traits Edit

  1. Liar
    - Hiding her family's magical history (apparent due to Connor being a mage)
    - Hiding her son's magical abilities to her own husband
    - Backing out on her words of promised wealth to the Warden after saving Connor
  2. Unfaithful
    - Even Valena, Owen's daughter, told him Arlessa Isolde is involved in something, hiding something from her husband
    - Valena also told her father Owen that she thinks Isolde is having an affair with the tutor mage she hired
    - "Far too young for the Arl, and too proud and headstrong" - words from Owen the Redcliffe Blacksmith himself
  3. Irresponsible Noble
    - Too committed and occupied with her son Connor to learn about Ferelden's rulers (as Bann Teagan is able to recognise the child of a murdered teyrn while Isolde just insults the Grey Warden)
    - Willing to sacrifice other people's lives rather than her son's
    - Ignores the welfare of the Redcliffe villagers after the nightly assaults
  4. Barbaric
    - Tortures apostates rather than handing them over to the Chantry
  5. Resentful (Cruel)
    - outcasting Alistair as a child from his only home (without respect to his royal heritage)
  6. Disrepectful
    - Disrespects those of higher ranks than an arlessa (Human Noble, Dwarf Noble, Grey Warden)
    - Has the (corpse) gall to dare command those that are at a higher rank than she.
  7. Deceptive
    - Tricks an old Fereldan arl to marry her so she could get all the riches (making her a gold-digger)
    - Hides Connor's magical abilities to her own husband
  8. Diabolic
    - Has the ability to mess around with the Warden's Codex entries, possibly through secret dealings with demons
  9. Conducts Illegal Acts
    - Hiring Jowan, an apostate and known blood mage, to tutor her magically inclined apostate son (as both crimes are against the law of the Chantry)
  10. Selfish
    - Believes her son can be saved at the cost of countless others who means nothing to her
  11. Hypocritical
    - Related to the above. She essentially sacrifices dozens and dozens of lives to save her son, venomously stating she hates magic and wouldn't lose her son to it no matter what, only to flip 180 when she realizes magic is the only thing that can save him.
  12. Racist
    - Allows her son, Connor, to cut off elven maid ears in the castle
  13. Insincere
    - Blunt insincerity in her words of thanks to the Warden after saving the Arl (so obvious a person next to me watching TV could sense it)
  14. Foul Mouth
    - Poor choice of words toward The Wardens and many others she did not care to know who are.

Caught In The Act (Actual Footage) Edit

SHAAAAAADY
"So you knew about this all along." - The Warden
"Yes, but my sons life is worth more than all those villagers out there.." - Isolde
"Do you feel guilty at all Isolde? The least you can do is say Sorry." - Bann Teagaan all covered in blood.
"No." - Isolde

Gnawood Bartender
Intentionally hired a Blood Mage to poison her own husband & blamed him when things didn't go as planned, SHAAAAAADY!

DiscussionEdit

Ok this is interesting-check this: "Bugs A possible bug can occur after saving both Arlessa Isolde and Connor by acquiring the aid of the Circle of Magi. The codex states that either Connor or Arlessa Isolde, or both, died ''Link title''during the events at Redcliffe Castle even though both survived and continue to appear in the game." Does that mean there is some way to kill them both??

no, I don't think so. You have to choose between the two. I killed Connor and still rmemeber ther'es no dialogue choice where Isolde said she wants to go with him. Had she said it we know how this's gonna end. Never chose to kill Isolde because I don't dabble in Bloodmagic.

No, you have three choices, kill Connor, kill Isolde, kill Bill (wait.... thats not right.....) or you can go to the Circle Tower and save them both. But the above bug can occur. If you go along the death of one of them route, you can't kill the other. (Believe me, I've tried...... a lot..... bloody kid was so annoying)Madasamadthing 12:53, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

Gotta love french accents lol

Guys, dont forget to SIGN yourself, so we can track down how many members we have.--Rencol 10:17, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

News: so i came to decision that Isolde cant be possessed by demon. But demon can by possessed by Isolde. Especialy the pride demons seems even more selfish after being possessed by Isolde. Woot --Rencol 18:24, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

We seriously need some modder here, to make an easy mode which adds several dialogue options for killing Isolde. Example: instead of "Push away Isolde and kill Connor" followed by bitchslap ---> "Dispose of Isolde and kill Connor [mage only]" followed by lighting bolt for Isolde and knife for Connor. Would be awesome.--Rencol 05:41, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

My friend told me that he found Isolde's nicer sister. I should recognize right away who is he talking about. [[1]]--Rencol 06:01, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Good list up there, but in my OWN WORDS... She's an idiot whose own love of her son caused Redcliffe to get nearly destroyed.. And though it seems small in comparison, her utter contempt for Alistair disgusts me. He was just an innocent child, and instead of listen to her super nice husband say "He isn't mine", she listens to rumors, treats him like filth, and forces Eamon to send him away from the only home he's ever known. She turned a loving environment into a living hell and ruined his life. Selfish bitch. Aisynia 13:34, April 10, 2010 (UTC)

What's curious is that Alistair still doesn't seem to hate her, despite everything she did to him (even making up excuses to try to understand why she did it). It's one of Alistair's flaws - he needs to grow a spine :P Matt-256 19:36, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

It would be really interesting seeing Alistair kill her personaly. After being darkened by his sister and Morrigan (possibly also Warden).
Possible dialogue:
Alistair: Warden i dont know what to do! Dalish are dead, Circle of Magi destroyed, dwarves turned into soul-sacricifing lunatics, my home village burned to ground, Morrigan makes constant fun of me (and torture me with voodoo doll if you downloaded new content xD), my sister despise me, my brother teared apart, my mentor dead, my order in ruins and my beloved country overrun by darkness and idiotic rulers (say hello to loghain, anora and howe).
Warden: Shit happens.
Alistair: I just feel urgent need to kill somebody.
Warden: Well, lets visit Redcliff castle, shall we?
Alistar: Why? Last time you went there i wasnt with you.
Warden: You shall see, its surprise :)
lols Rencol 05:54, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Kudos to whoever cleaned up the "crimes" section above. The argument is far clearer now. Who knows, maybe Bioware will have her die a pointless and horrible death in the sequel. I've heard of TV writers responding to fan comments like these (e.g. "Lost") when the character(s) were hated and not really necessary to the plot.--Madmandoc 06:04, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, still need somebody to help reword some of them though especially ones at the bottom of the list.
Fycan [fahy-kan] @ 07:48, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Doesn't Alistair approve more of just killing her? I don't think he hated her for sending him away to the Chantry because if she hadn't he probably never would have met Duncan/ become a Grey Warden. But still that's another reason he should stand up for himself more.

You cannot kill isolde normal way (sadly). If you kill her, its only by blood magic (which alistair despise), or you can kill connor (alistair surprisingly doesnt like killing children) or you can save them both (and that for instance we dont like).--Rencol 15:52, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

I think the best way to tackle her while keeping Alistair cool at the same time is by dealing with the demon yourself, letting her come back to possess Connor at a later date.
I'm heading to Redcliffe today with my newly made Main Healer in Nightmare mode and that's what I'm planning to do.
"Thanks to the posts about how to keep Alistair from hating you for killing Isolde, I took great pleasure in letting Jowan turn her into goo this play-through!" - Ozena
Do we actually lose less Appproval points with Alistair by letting Jowan help? I never knew this.
Fycan [fahy-kan] @ 07:10, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

I did not take Alistair with me because I planned to kill her this time through. I did get -10 from him (even not there) when accepting her offer to sacrifice herself for Jowan to perform the ritual. I then got a +7 in camp utilizing the 360 "glitch" to simply say "I think that went well." It triggers the "thank you for saving the Arls family conversation...even though I killed Isolde. Or...maybe he never thought of her as "family"...reading the codex I note she is the daughter of the Orlian lord who stole the Redcliffe Arling to begin with...why WOULD Eamon marry the daughter of the occupying force anyway ?!? Are we sure SHE doesn't have blood magin ;) 24.148.182.133 11:23, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

wow i am now @ Redcliffe actually talking to Owen, I never knew the man has such deep insight on Isolde.
This is new to me, i never took the time to talk to Owen. This man obviously got some solid perspective towards Isolde, way to go Owen.
Owen's Testament:
"My daughter used to tell me the arlessa was up to something, hiding thing s from her husband. I told Valenna she was imagining things, but maybe the arlessa was involved in something. Blood magic, maybe. She thought the arlessa was having an affair with some tutor she hired for the boy, Connor. I never listened much to her talk about it, though I wish now I had... Only that she's an Orlesian girl from beyond the western mountains. Far too young for our Arl, that's what I say, andd too proud and headstrong from the sounds of it."
Fycan [fahy-kan] @ 09:42, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

Even a drunk blacksmith and his young unexperienced daughter knows that Isolde is a bitch, and they dont even know her. :P --Rencol 12:35, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

I think there's more text on this page than any other; just tells you how much of a bitch she really is. You know, I get the whole "do anything for your child" thing if you're a parent, but really, Redcliffe got massacred and it is SOLELY her fault. And she could have stopped it at any time. By the way, I really want her dead, but I don't want the massive disapproval from Alistair, can someone explain how to do that? Thanks. - Sophirim

Yes we have already discussed this. All you need to do is leaving Alistair in camp, sacrifice Isolde, and then tell Alistair in camp "It worked out quite well dont you think?" as first reply to his ranting. He will act as if Connor is saved by lyrium and Isolde is alive, and you gain approval.--Rencol 05:57, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

So is isolde dead, i made a deal wih the demon(unhealthy for connor), and i am going to destroy the tower as a mage, what a lovely day under the icelandic cloud :) --PeterR 20:47, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

I just had beautiful dream about new DLC - ability to kill Isolde for only 160 game points. Aaaach... --Rencol 05:57, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

The ONLY way to get her to EVER say that it's her fault and she is responsible is a dialoguye option taken after deciding to kill her with blood magic. Also, while I like Wynne, my mages are always blood mages and it's icing on the cake to have Wynne bitch about being the subject of blood magic if you select her to enter the fade :p -- Aisynia 06:57, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

Reports just came in from Gnawed Noble Tavern's Bartender himself. Apparently he's got some information regarding Isolde's secrets aswell.

After a lot of times trying and faling in killing her myself(jowan is the only one who can have this pleasure),i decided that giving her pain in the as s chil to the disire deamon was the second best thing while using jowan to kill her.I mean the bitch is dead , the kid is Fu$#@¨¨ and the my warden is happy.Crazygamer brazil 22:07, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

You know what I like most? The facty that it's Isolde's genetics that spawns the mage children. If you choose to kill Conner, she and Eamon have a daughter who also turns out to be a mage. And, when you consider that Eamon's sister, Rowan, doesn't spawn a mage child in Cailan, we see that it's Isolde's family line that spawns the mages. The the pious hater of mages creates the very things she despises. Love it. HitokiriAkins03:24, April 24, 2010 (UTC)

More annoying? Isolde, or Nuber in Baldur's Gate? (hopped in the wayback machine for this one.) LVTDUDE 05:40, May 2, 2010 (UTC)
Isolde's got nothing on Habren

She is blatantly after Teagan:) I have to say the first playthrough I got her killed. The kid is bloody annoying too imo but what do you expect. The oly reason i let her live this time is my Warden is basically a nice person and did not want Atrl Eamon to suffer any more pain. In response to losing approval from Alistair, either leave him in camp and the choose the correct dialogue or just lose the approval but give him trhe gifts after. I dont think he likes Isolde much anyway. If so side with the templars in the broken Circle Quest you dont get to go back to the Tower for help anyway. Take say Morrigan, Zevran and Sten or whoever along. Diidii (talk) 09:11, June 8, 2010 (UTC)Diidii

@Rencol- They should make it for free because after seeing how many people hate her, they will so make it free.MasterMage (talk) 16:03, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

I think Anders should steal her away from Eamon and marry her. "All I want is a pretty girl and to be able to shoot lightning bolts at fools." She could fulfill both wishes; though I'm sure her looks would depreciate after the tempest he'd have to unleash on her every day. LVTDUDE (talk) 15:27, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

I actually rather like Isolde. :D MathiasAmon (talk) 22:33, October 6, 2011 (UTC)

Hmm, was not expecting all this hate for the child here.174.45.9.40 (talk) 00:37, October 7, 2011 (UTC)

@Rencol- About Alistair losing less approval that way, the only way you can do this bug is if you have a 360 though. I on the other hand have a ps3 and this isnt the case on there. As far as I know on the Ps3, there are no bugs regarding his aproval and the only you lose less approval is simply by just saving the both of them...However is anybody does know any bugs regarding this, please let me know!
