Don't know if anybody's interested in Mike Laidlaw's activities anymore, but according to this news site (@ 2:47), he's going back to AAA Games of some sort.

Yeh I saw this couple days ago.
And with AC: Odyssey it’s like Ubisoft is trying to become new Bioware with romance, dialogue options
So maybe why Mike joined and why they wanted him
Yeah, they are moving in the rpg direction so it makes sense. I’m pretty excited by the news, I like the new direction of Assassin’s Creed.
Wasn't he just working with this spanish indie company on their kickstarter? And now he's already back in the triple A industry after what, barely a year? Would've liked to see him back at Bioware in that case, but oh well. Speaking of Bioware personal, anyone know what's up with Patrick Weekes after that ominous tweet a while back? Sounded like he was leaving as well.
After the announcement of DA4, and him talking about his excitement at working on the new game and his wife as well talking bout it, I cannot see in anyway him leaving
Good to know, he had me a bit worried there. The man is a brilliant writer and I'd hate to see him go.
